PHOENIX – Bird City Comedy Festival will be taking place from April 6 through April 9. The venues are located in the downtown area and consist of: Crescent Ballroom, Lawn Gnome Publishing, The Newton, Phoenix Center for the Arts, Renaissance Downtown Phoenix, Space 55, Stand Up Live and Valley Bar. Genevieve Rice is the founder. The festival features stand-up comedy, sketch, improv and storytelling. Up-and-coming comedy shows, podcasts, variety and game shows might be present.
Headlining Bird City Comedy Festival will be: Greg Behrendt, Aparna Nancherla, Brent Weinbach, Danny Lobell, JT Habersaat, Mister Chris, Kristine Levine, Mishka Shubaly and Ben Berkley. Kristen Alberts, Sofiya Alexandra, Tony B, Leslie Barton, Joe Bates, Sari Beliak, Michelle Biloon, Tristan Bowling, Ben Bryant, Robert Buscemi, Chris Castles, Cristin Davis, Andrew Deacon, Anthony Desamito, Mike Enders, Paul Goebel, Jonathan Gregory, Patrick Hastie, Hattie Hayes, Jason Hill, James Hoenscheidt, Leigh Houck, Amanda Hurley, Jessie Johnson, Alex Kack, Michael Paul Kohn, Bill Laskowski, Alley Lightfoot, Joleen Lunzer, Ryan Malco, Leah Mansfield, Kwasi Mensah, Matt Micheletti, Hana Michels, Carmen Morales, Buck Newman, Jen O’Neill Smith, Michael Palladino, Geoff Piccareta, Dante Powell, Genevieve Rice, David Rodriguez, Kristofer Royer, Kristin Ryan, Jen Saunderson, Prateek Srivasta, Kon Stamadianos, Andy Steinberg, Matt Stors, HotRock SupaJoint, Valerie Tosi, Ronn Vigh, Anya Volz, Rachel Weeks, Emily Winter and Matt Ziemak will perform stand-up comedy.
Improv will be performed by the following: Dangerville, Kitten Spit, Mariachi Kittens, The Neighborhood, Pizza Party, The Riveters, Spearmint, Tiny Punches and Waiting to be Discovered. Sketch will be provided by: The Court Stenographers, Dawson’s Queef and The [sic] Sense. The lineup for storytellers will be announced soon.

Submission to take part in the form of stand-up, sketch, improv and storytelling of the Bird City Comedy Festival are closed. However, a few $5 submission days will be announced via their social media profiles. Those will be announced a few days prior to the festival on their Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts.
For consideration to take part in next year’s Bird City Comedy Festival are as follow: a minimum of four minutes performance, video is set to public or unlisted, an unedited performance, good sound quality and recorded within the previous two years. For more information, please click here.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Sareth Ney is the journalist for A Quarter and Dream Pictures. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mass Communications and Center for New Media from Colorado State University-Pueblo. He is a former apprentice to master of horror, Clive Barker. He is a Wu-Tang Clan inspired superhero, Wu-Man Chu.
