Dark Darker Meets Leatherface at Gibson Amphitheatre

After finding out that a Rock God, Danny Carey, performs with three bands (TOOL, VOLTO!, BubbaTRON!)—I decided to seek another musician whom did the same. It was none other than Mac Danzig (Danzig, Misfits, Samhain).

My friend, “Evan”, was kind enough to hook me up with four backstage passes to the Danzig Legacy concert. I did not know who to take and I did not want to sell them because they were gifts. I had to find some people quick and this is how the story developed.

Andrew Bryniarski walked into where I used to work and was moving his shoulders. It startled me because of his stature. I thought he was getting angry. He had just received a massage and he had knots worked out from his back. I asked him what he did and he mentioned he was in films. I asked him which ones and he said he played Leatherface in “Texas Chainsaw Massacre”. I told him that I know someone who is known for Horror movies and he asked who. I mentioned Clive Barker’s name and he asked me if I knew his former assistant. I told him that I did and we started talking.

I went to the office and let his former assistant know that I ran into Andrew. He told me that he was going to the Danzig Legacy concert too. He gave me his number, we talked on the phone and I told Andrew that I was dressing up as Wu-Man Chu. He reminisced about the times he hung out with members of the Wu-Tang Clan.

After walking down Universal CityWalk, I received a lot of cheers from the crowd. I told Andrew where I was at and he spotted me. He could not believe his eyes and thought it was quite unique. We waited for the rest of the party to arrive and we walked backstage. Leatherface and his lady friend went a different route, if I can recall. His other friend and I had a talk, as we walked to the backstage area.

We all met backstage and Andrew introduced me to many musicians that I was not familiar with. Members of Type-O Negative and Danzig Legacy were hanging out backstage. We gathered around a table and (missing reel).

We went into the venue and we tried to take seats. He got away with his seat but I had to go into the pit. Fortunately, Andrew said he would keep an eye out for me. That was quite comforting to know that the actor who played Leatherface had my back.

After the show, we hung out backstage. He was mingling with other people and I got stuck with a drunk girl with relationship problems. Then, I ran into the lead singer of Puddle of Mudd and actors from the “Jackass” series. Andrew caught up with me and chatted for a bit. A fan came up and said something that irked him and (missing reel).

That was how I spent my Halloween of 2011.
