Denver Comic Con announces dates for 2017

DENVER – Denver Comic Con and Pop Culture Classroom have announced the dates for their annual convention, on July 28. The event will take place from June 30 through July 2 and will be returning to the Colorado Convention Center.
Nearly 115,000 patrons attended Denver Comic Con and Pop Culture Classroom, in 2016. In the five years of existence, it became one largest comic and most attended pop culture conventions the U.S. had to offer. Guests of the last event included: Stan Lee (Marvel), Lena Headey (“Game of Thrones”) and Ralph Macchio (“The Karate Kid” (1984)).
“2016 was a blast, and of course the growth of the event is exciting,” Denver Comic Con’s convention director, Christina Angel, stated. “It’s an honor to be able to bring such popular guests, comic artists and programs to the Denver community. We’re already working to make the 2017 line-up the best yet.”
Programming which took place at Denver Comic Con kept attendees engaged and one of the main reasons why it grew in popularity. Vendors, cosplayers, panelists and guests took over the 9,000 square feet venue of the Colorado Convention Center. 300 hours of panels included artists, creators, celebrities and industry experts. The family-friendly atmosphere and operation engaged all ages to learn with help through pop culture.
Pop Culture Classroom uses alternative ways to teach and cater to students ranging from: character development, learning and literacy. Programs are created for communities, schools and underserved students. Materials they use include comic books, graphic novels and those associated with. They are a charitable organization, produce Denver Comic Con and organize it too. Their mission statement is: “Pop Culture Classroom ignites a love of learning, increases literacy, celebrates diversity and builds community through the tools of pop culture and the power of self-expression.”
Categories in pop-culture Denver Comic Con specializes are: comic books, films and forms of media related to the fields mentioned. It is a division of Pop Culture Classroom. Tickets for the 2017 event will go on sale, starting this fall.
