New Orleans to host sixth annual

NEW ORLEANS – Hell Yes Fest will be taking place over a span of five days in New Orleans, in mid Nov. Submissions are open until June 15 for the following: stand-up, improv, sketch, podcasts, specialty format showcases, game shows and weird stuff. It is sponsored by The New Movement, Gambit, Nola Brewing Co., Mid City Pizza, Print+ and Huka Entertainment. Venues and dates will be announced soon.
Submission fee for consideration of Hell Yes Fest is $25. Locals of New Orleans are encouraged to try out the new annual contest called Hell Yes Next. Comedians chosen to perform will be notified by July 30 or sooner. After the payment is submitted, the following is requested: video of the act, biography and a photo of the person/group.
Funding from the submission fee goes towards good people Hell Yes Fest have yet to meet or have yet to see perform. It will cover organizing, video submission watching, communication, website maintenance, food, drinks and parties for the festival. The videos submitted will be considered for other events The New Movement creates throughout the year, from New Orleans to Austin, Texas.
Improv and sketch groups will be allotted at least 25 minutes to perform at Hell Yes Fest. Stand-up comedians will receive a total of 20 minutes. Their time will be spread throughout the various venues. Those participating in the festival will receive free admission to all performances including the headliner shows, if space is available. They will receive free food, beverages including alcohol, treats and cash too.
Past performer of Hell Yes Fest included: Sarah Silverman, Nick Swardson, Tim Heidecker, Hasan Minhaj, Doug Benson, Ben Gleib, Alice Wetterlund, Fortune Feimster, Carly Aquilino, The Eric Andre Show, Neil Hamburger, Nikki Glaser, Todd Barry, Doug Loves Movies Podcast, Aparna Nancherla, Matteo Lane, Ian Abramson, Moshe Kasher, Ian Karmel, Brandon Wardell, Sara Schaefer, Rory Scovel, Baron Vaughn, Sean Patton, James Adomian, Matt Braunger and Amy Heckerling.

Trew is the co-founder and Creative Director of The New Movement. LaBorde is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of The New Movement.
