Orange County Convention Center set to host MegaCon Orlando

ORLANDO, Fla. – MegaCon will be taking over the Orange County Convention Center, from May 26 through May 29. It will be a gathering of the realms of anime, comics, games, horror and Science Fiction. Full Sail University is the supporting sponsor.
Anime and gaming attractions and news will be announced in the upcoming weeks. Schedules for anime, comics and gaming will be announced in May. Frank Miller and The Dark Knight III Team, Hayley Atwell (“Agent Carter”), John Cusack (“Identity”, “Grosse Pointe Blank”), Adam West and Burt Ward (“Batman”), Kevin Smith and Jason Mewes (“Clerks”, “Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back”) and Stan Lee (Marvel, “Stan Lee’s Lucky Man”) have been announced as the comic guests. A sketch duel is the first comic attraction to be announced. Comic book artists go “pen to pen”. Then, the one-of-a-kind artwork will be up for grabs.
Cast members of “The Walking Dead” television series are scheduled to attend MegaCon. They are Norman Reedus (Daryl Dixon), Tom Payne (Paul “Jesus” Rovia) and Lennie James (“Morgan Jones”). Joining them will be Christopher Lloyed (“Back To The Future” trilogy, “The Addams Family”) and Billie Piper (“Doctor Who”). Award winning and best-selling horror authors will be announced, in the upcoming weeks.
Sci-fi guests will be Freema Agyeman (Martha Jones in “Doctor Who”), Michelle Gomez (Missy in “Doctor Who”), Vivica A. Fox (“Independence Day”, “Kill Bill”) and William Sadler (“Roswell”, “The Shawshank Redemption”), Jeremy Bulloch (Boba Fett of the original “Star Wars” trilogy) and Anthony Daniels (C-3PO of “Star Wars”). William Shatner (James T. Kirk), George Takei (Hikara Sulu) and Nichelle Nichols (Lieutenant Uhura) will be celebrating the 50th anniversary of “Star Trek” at MegaCon.
Cosplay, sci-fi authors, animation and web series guests will be announced at a later date. Organizations associated with the sci-fi portion of MegaCon include: Wasabi Anime (Anime Hosts), MarkWHO42 (Doctor Who Podcast), 501st Legion (Star Wars Lego Costume Group) and Southern R2 Builders (Droid Builders). Sci-Fi attractions include the Cosplay Masquerade, Celebrity Photo Sessions and Celebrity Questions and Answers (Q&A).
