ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – A Classic Theatre presented “Murderers” and took place in the Lincolnville Museum and Cultural Center. It was by Jeffrey Hatcher and directed by Cindy Alexander. It starred Stephen Mitchell as Gerald Halverson in “The Man Who Married His Mother-in-Law”, Natalie Beltrami as Lucya Stickler in “Margaret Faydie Comes To Town” and Harolyn Sharpe as Minka Lupino in “Match Wits with Minka Lupino”.

Setting the mood during intermissions were songs with violence in the title. They included “Psycho Killer” by Talking Heads”, “Killing Me Softly With His Song” by Roberta Flack and more. The clock struck 7:30 p.m., the stage turned blue and a voice set the location for southwest Fla.

Mitchell, Beltrami, Sharpe appeared on stage and claimed to be murderers. Beltrami and Sharpe exited the stage, as Mitchell performed for 45 minutes. No microphones were needed, as he spoke loud and clear using props. He mentioned “The Price Is Right” and “Murder She Wrote”, while changing voices effortlessly.

After intermission--it was Beltrami’s turn for 45 minutes and she spoke of the game show, “Jeopardy”. Her dialog included curse words which caused the audience to laugh. She spoke of her plan, after her husband was not being loyal to their marriage. After the stage was torn down and set up again, a 15 minute intermission was not necessary and Sharpe jumped right into the third act. She included the television show, “Law & Order”, in her set and she portrayed a serial killer.
