Popular Laughing Festival opens submission for 2017 comedy festivals

NEW YORK – Popular Laughing Festival is accepting entries to a series of comedy festivals, for 2017. They consist of Laughing Devil Comedy Festival, Devil Cup and She-Devil Comedy Festival. They are all organized and administered by Steve Horstetter.
Laughing Devil Comedy Festival will be returning for the sixth year, from May 10 through May 14. 100 comedians are selected to perform. Comedy industry personnel are in attendance and a cash prize of $2,500 is presented to the winner of the competition. Seminars, parties and comic dinners will take place at the festival.
To submit to the Laughing Dog Festival, the video submissions must be between three to 10 minutes long and must be continuous. The Uniform Resource Locator (URL) code must be sent along with. All who enter will not be selected. The prices of the submission fee will increase, as the date draws nearer. The early submission price is $25 and is due by Dec. 1. The regular submission price is $40 and is due by Jan. 15. The late submission is $60 and is due by Feb. 25. Selections will be announced on or before March 15. For more information, click here.
Devil Cup will take place from July 16 through July 19 and is open to comedians with less than five years of experience. The winner of the festival receives $500 and paid feature work.
Same rules apply, as Laughing Devil Comedy Festival. Differences are first performances must have taken place after July 15, 2012. The submission fees and one date are different. Early deadline is $15 submission fee and due by Jan. 15. Regular deadline’s submission fee is $25 and due by Feb. 25. Late submission fee is $40 and due by April 1. She-Devil Comedy Festival is set to take place from Oct. 18 through Oct. 22. It returns for the sixth year and it is open to female comics.
