San Diego Comedy Festival accepting submissions for 2017

SAN DIEGO – San Diego Comedy Festival will be accepting entries until Dec. 10. Comedians will be announced on or before Dec. 15. It will take place at The Comedy Palace, from Jan. 23 through Jan. 29. Submission fee is $35, along with a Uniform Resource Locator (URL) link to a five minute set. A select amount of comedians will be chosen, from the entries the festival receives. The fee is non-refundable.
Contests will be held at San Diego Comedy Festival. Prizes for the top comedians participating in the official contest are as follow: First place is $1,000, second place I $500, third place is $400, fourth place is $300, fifth place is $200 and sixth place is $100. For the showcases, the best of clean comedy and best of general comedy will receive $250 each.
Along with showcases, national headliners and contests—San Diego Comedy Festival will also welcome the following: agencies, bookers, celebrity comedians, corporate sponsored booths, giveaways, guest speakers, managers, prizes, radio personalities, television personalities and more.
Winners from 2016 consist of: Jerry Garcia, Deric Poston, Ibo Brewer, James Schrader, Rodger Lizaola and Trent McClellan. Past performers of San Diego Comedy Festival includes: Jen Kober (2014), Kevin Pollack (2014), Donnell Rawlings (2014), Theo Von (2014), Bob Zany (2015), Jeff Dye (2015 and 2016), Gerry Bednob (2016), Ron Jeremy (2016) and Johnny Sanchez (2016).
Early bird ticket pricing to attend San Diego Comedy Festival is $75 and it is for the VIP All Access Pass. It is good for all shows. However, it is excludes the comedy workshop and there is a two item minimum. The regular price ranges from $125 to $150. It excludes the service and delivery fees. The delivery fee can be avoided by choosing the following options: print at home, mobile and will call. Deliveries will be made to the U.S. and Canada only.
