The Comedy Get Down looks to land at the Amway Center

ORLANDO, Fla.—The Comedy Get Down will touch down at Amway Center, on Aug. 7. The event will feature comedians: Cedric “The Entertainer”, Eddie Griffin, D.L. Hughley, George Lopez and Charlie Murphy.
Cedric “The Entertainer”’s works in film and television, he has his own production company called A Bird and A Bear Entertainment, has his own hat line called WHOCed and founded The Cedric The Entertainer Charitable Foundation. Through the organization he awarded over 200 scholarships, among many other accomplishments in St. Louis. His compete list of his works can be seen by clicking here.
Griffin is in his 25th anniversary in the comedy scene. In high school, he earned the title of class clown three years in a row. His cousin dared him to do a three minute stand-up routine, it lasted for 45 minutes and soon headed out to Los Angeles to pursue comedy. Works in film and television soon followed. Hughley is a comedian, host of several ventures, author and won the 2013 Peabody Award. After being a telemarketer for the Los Angeles Times and being manager, he pursued comedy. After years of club dates, he was chosen as one of the first hosts of BET’s “Comic View”. His complete works can be seen here.
Lopez works range from the small to the big screen, along with standup comedy. His self-titled sitcom lasted six years and his talk show lasted for two. In 2009, his HBO comedy special, “Tall Dark and Chicano”, earned him a GRAMMY nomination, added to many more in previous years. He is an author and performs voiceover for animated features. In 2014, he co-created “Saint George” for the FX cable network. He has a star on Hollywood’s Walk of Fame and his film works can be found here.
Murphy spent the last eight years being an actor, writer, producing talent and performing stand up comedy in front of sold out crowd around the world. He has graced the stage with other well-known comedians, throughout the years. Some included his co-stars from “Chappelle’s Show”. His motion pictures works can be found here.

Sareth Ney is the entertainment journalist for A Quarter and Dream Pictures.
