FLAGLER BEACH, Fla. – Tyler Bergeron was one of many acts to perform at Fuego Del Mar’s weekly open mic night, on Sept. 30. He performed two songs and played with two groups of musicians, including one with the Flagler Beach Allstars.
Gurnsey kicked off the open mic night, as he performed two songs. He went onto invite Bergeron to play two songs, the first he performed by himself. He started his first song by playing guitar and providing vocals. He covered Fly My Pretties’ “Singing In My Soul”.
Afterwards—Bergeron relocated to where his keyboard was stationed and played it, while he provided vocals for “Faith Can Move Mountains”. Gurnsey called a few musicians up to join him. Gurnsey took on the role as back-up vocalist and guitarist, Jesse Bertholf became the bassist and Dan Fedele was the drummer and accompanied Bergeron on Keyboard. Bergeron advised his new band mates the notes of the song would go from F to C minor. Gurnsey would assist with backup vocals and performed a guitar solo.
After the “Faith Can Move Mountains” came to an end, one audience member stated she saw people dancing on the beach. The quartet continued the open mic’ night of music by covering Canned Heat’s “Let’s Work Together” and Taj Mahal’s “Leaving Trunk”.
After taking a break from the stage, Bergeron returned to accompany his fellow bandmates called the Flagler Beach Allstars. He played the keyboard and he also provided backup vocals, Jezus Borgia provided the lyrics, Keith Everett slapped the bass, Travis Rudd strummed the electric guitarist, Jim Taylor was the drummer and Maggie Burkett played the trombone.
The Flagler Beach Allstars started their set with “Bed Of Roses”. Borgia provided the majority of the vocals, as Bergeron assisted him with the backup vocals. Burkett approached from the right side of the stage with a trombone in hand, as she assisted with the instrumentals. Bergeron went onto sing the bridge of the song. After the song concluded, he told the audience to give a round of applause for Burkett.
“Send Me That Love” was the second song the Flagler Beach Allstars performed. Bergeron advised his bandmates the notes to the song went from C major to D minor. After the song came to an end, Gurnsey requested “Over The Sea” to be the last. Due to the response, he requested “El Flagler” to be the closing encore.
