Wilson Phillips to be accompanied by Jacksonville Symphony at The St. Augustine Amphitheatre

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla – Wilson Philips will be accompanied by the Jacksonville Symphony at The St. Augustine Amphitheatre, on May 28. The gates will open at 7 p.m. and the concert will begin at 8 p.m.
Chynna Phillips, Carnie Wilson and Wendy Wilson are the vocalists known as Wilson Phillips. The Wilson sisters are the daughters of The Beach Boys’ Brian Wilson. Phillips is the daughter of The Mamas & The Papas’ John and Michelle Phillips.
In 1989, the trio of Wilson Phillips formed in Los Angeles. One year later, they released their debut album. It featured five Top 20 singles including: “Hold On”, “Impulsive”, “You’re In Love” and “The Dream Is Still Alive”. “Hold On”, “Release Me” and “You’re In Love” reached number one and were certified gold singles. “Impulsive” reached number four and “The Dream Is Still Alive” reached number 12. It sold five million copies and won the Billboard Music Award for “Hold On”.
In 1992, Wilson Phillips became the best-selling female group of all-time. Previously, the title holder was The Supremes. Their latest album was “Dedicated” and was released on April 3, 2012 through Sony Masterworks.

Jacksonville Symphony was founded in 1949. Since the formation, they have performed with several musicians including: The Beach Boys, Audra McDonald and Joshua Bell. They have showcased their performances in various styles.
In nearly the six decades of existence, Jacksonville Symphony continues to be a leading establishment in northeast Florida. They are a non-profit organization and they hope to continue to inspire the community of Jacksonville, Fla. They host family concerts, provide field trip opportunities, help plan student visits, assist with community programs and the Jacksonville Symphony Youth Orchestras.
