JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Adam Hartle’s inspiration to perform stand-up comedy came from liking to have a voice and partying. With those combined, he felt comedy was a perfect fit. The first time he performed on stage, he was terrified. He thanked his friend and liquor of choice, Jack Daniels, for providing him the courage to get up. He remembered it was an open mic contest, anyone could go up, he ended up winning and he had been hooked since.
Joe Rogan’s “Triggered” was cited as Hartle’s favorite comedy special. He said he was a huge fan of Bill Hicks and going back to watching his specials. “Caddyshack”, “¡Three Amigos!”, “Back To School” and “The Naked Gun: From the Files of Police Squad!” were his favorite films.
If Hartle could go on tour with any comedian, he chose Rogan. He chose him, due to the conversations after the performances. He went onto say he had never seen any other comedian “plugged in” to the craft. If he could get roasted by comedians past or present, he chose: Jeff Ross, Greg Giraldo, Anthony Jeselnik, Don Rickles and Dave Attell.
Other forms of comedy Hartle would like to venture off into would be film. He has had experience in making a low budget comedy documentary, “Mile High The COmeback of Cannabis”, a few years ago. He made it with his best friend and writing partner, Anthony Hashem. The world premiere took place at the Mayan Theatre, in Denver. He also recalled being goofy 10 years ago, making videos and uploading them to the “Funny Or Die” website.
In the next five years, Hartle says he does not want to predict the future because he does not want to jinx himself. However, he is open to any project which is funny and delivers a good message. He is in the process of writing a scripted comedy, along with Hashem. He states his comedy career is “progressing nicely” and he will never give up stand-up, no matter how old he gets. After each set comes to an end—Hartle hopes he gets the spectators to think and talk about their experiences, on their drive home.
On social media, Hartle can be found on Facebook and welcomes the majority of his friend requests. He only rejects those who take pictures of their meals and their toes on vacation. His website can be found by clicking here.
