Ani DiFranco and Ana Egge to grace the stage at Ponte Vedra Concert Hall

PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. - Ani DiFranco and Ana Egge will be performing at the Ponte Vedra Concert Hall, on Oct. 9. DiFranco’s tour will begin her tour with Mike & Ruthy on Sept. 11 at The Music Hall in Portsmouth, N.H. It will conclude on Nov. 21 at Town Hall in New York. Egge’s tour will begin on Sept. 11 at SMOKEHOUSE LIVE, in Leesburg, Va. and conclude on April 23 at Common Fence Music, in Portsmouth, R.I.
DiFranco will be promoting her most recent album, “Allergic To Water”. It features the following tracks: “dithering”, “see see see see”, “woe be gone”, “careless words”, “allergic to water”, “harder than it needs to be”, “genie”, “happy all the time”, “year yr right”, “tr’w”, “still my heart” and “rainy parade”.
Todd Sickafoose, Terence Higgins, Ivan Neville, Mike Dillon, Jenny Scheinman and Perrine assisted DiFranco with the additional instrumentals. Some of the songs feature guests, as well. She produced and mixed the record by herself.
Acoustic solos, jazz, soul, electronica and distant sounds are incorporated into the production of DiFranco’s “Allergic To Water”. Outside of the music production of the album—she was inspired by the personal reflections of her life. These include where she currently resides and motherhood.

Egge will be on tour promoting her recent album, “Bright Shadow”. She was the producer of the album. The track listings of the album are: “Dreamer”, “Flat Top Guitar”, “Jenny Run Away”, “Bright Shadow”, “Rock Me (Divine Mother)”, a cover of Dolly Parton’s “Wildflowers”, “Fifth of July”, “Maps of the Moon”, “Turning Away” and “The Ballad of Jean Genet”.
Yep Roc recording artists, The Stray Birds (Maya De Vitry, Charles Muench, Oliver Craven), assisted her with the instrumentals and backup vocals.
“They were fans of my last album (2011’s Steve Earle-produced, ‘Bad Blood’), and approached me about backing me up at Folk Alliance in Toronto 2012. There was an affinity between us and the music just flowed,” Egges reminisced about the first time she met The Stray Birds.”

Sareth Ney is the entertainment journalist for A Quarter and Dream Pictures. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mass Communications and Center for New Media from Colorado State University-Pueblo. He is a former apprentice to master of horror, Clive Barker. He is known as the journalist/superhero, Wu-Man Chu, after meeting members of Wu-Tang Clan.
