BALTIMORE – Submissions for the first annual Baltimore Comedy Festival are being accepted. The festival will be taking place from Aug. 31 through Sept. 4. The venues involved are: Union Craft Brewing, The Crown Baltimore, Ryleigh’s Oyster, Asian Taste, Ottobar, Mount Vernon Marketplace, The Windup Space, The Motor House, Taps Fill Station and The Sidebar Tavern. The venues are located in the Mount Vernon, Remington, Arts District Station North and downtown area.
For consideration to be part of Baltimore Comedy Festival, all entries must be emailed to [email protected]. There is no limit to how many entries can be submitted, as long as they are sent individually. The following information is needed per email: comedian name, years experience, city submitting from, file attachment or Uniform Resource Locator (URL). A URL link to the performance is the most appropriate. Another option is to mail a non-returnable DVD to the following and addressed to the recipient:

Each entry for Baltimore Comedy Festival must be between seven to 10 minutes or under 20 minute in length. It must be to the standards of “tight and solid” or “best of”. According to their website, the other rules are all DVDs need to be postmarked by deadline and no edits or cuts within the video submitted.
Schedule for Baltimore Comedy Festival will be released in July. Tickets to attend will also be available to purchase, from July through Sept. There will also be free events, as well as paid premiere events.
Mission statement for Baltimore Comedy Festival is as follows: The mission of the Baltimore Comedy Festival is to offer FREE Comedy Events including Art, Showcases, Panel Discussions and Podcast Recordings within the surrounding Baltimore communities. BCF includes over 10 different Venues in the City. There are also opportunities within the Events to Meet and Hang out with comedians. There will be an Opening Ceremony & Showcase – Aug. 31st which will be held at The Motor House Baltimore, located in Station North and is the Headquarter location for the BCF. A Closing Ceremony takes place at The Sidebar located in Downtown Baltimore on Sept. 4. There will be a variety of FREE Events to choose from and 2 Premiere Events* that will be ticketed.
