Big Pine Comedy Festival accepting stand-up comedians, improv and skectch groups

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. – Big Pine Comedy Festival is accepting submissions for 2017. Stand-up, improv and sketch will be considered.
Early bird submissions fees are open from March 6 through April 2. The price for stand-up comedy is $25. Impov and sketch acts are $35. From April 3 to May 7, open submissions will be $35 for stand-up comedy. Improv and sketch will be $45. Late deadline fees will be $45 for stand-up. Improv and sketch will be $55. The time frame is from May 8 through June 4. Stand-up, improv and sketch are not equal selection and the amounts paid are non-refundable. Typeform and Paypal are the forms accepted as payment.
Along with submission fees for Big Pine Comedy Festival, a video must be submitted. Stand-up comedy performances must be five minutes in length, excluding the host or emcee. For improv and sketch groups, two to seven minutes of footage is the maximum the judges will view. Performances are encouraged to start off with their best jokes, first. Videos on YouTube which ae inactive or set to private will not be considered. Footage entered must be continuous. “Best of” and “highlight” reels will not be viewed. A phone recording is okay, must be recorded horizontally and must be steady. Audio and visual do not have to be the highest of quality. However, material submitted must be viewable and listenable.
50 comedic acts will be selected to take part at Big Pine Comedy Festival, along with national headliners. In attendance are local, national and industry professionals. Each will perform on stage for eight minutes. Depending on the availability, they will also have an opportunity to perform between two and five more times. There will be opportunities to network with the comedy community, workshops and seminars. Those selected will also gain free entry to all showcases, after parties, discounts at local eateries, happenings and lodgings. A competition for best of fest will take place too. The winner will walk away with gift cards, money, prizes and a paid weekend at local Ariz. clubs.
