DENVER – Boys Like Girls and The Old Fashioned will be performing at The Ogden Theatre, on Aug. 16. Boys Like Girls will be on tour celebrating the 10th anniversary of their self-titled debut album. The trek will begin at House of Blues in Boston, on Aug. 5. It will conclude at The Observatory in Santa Ana, Calif., on Aug. 21.
Martin Johnson is the lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist, Paul DiGiovanni is the lead guitarist, John Keefe is the drummer and Morgan Dorr is the bassist and backup vocalist of Boys Like Girls. They hail from Boston, currently reside in Los Angeles and part of the Columbia Records roster.
After forming in 2005, Boys Like Girls released their self-titled album. It featured 16 tracks, two were bonus songs including: “The Great Escape”, “Five Minutes to Midnight”, “Hero/Heroine”, “On Top of the World”, “Thunder”, “Me, You and My Medication”, “Up Against The Wall”, “Dance Hall Drug”, “Learning To Fall”, “Heals Over Head”, “Broken Man”, “Holiday”, “Hero/Heroine (Acoustic Version)” and “Hero/Heroine (Tom Lord-Alge Mix)”. Field Day Records re-released the album on vinyl and it sold out.
While on the expedition—Boys Like Girls will perform the self-titled album, from beginning to end. Another set of 500 vinyl records will be released in Sept. of 2016, a lyric sheet will be included, printed on red translucent red vinyl and can be pre-ordered here.
Donald Barjas is the guitarist, Drew Rayann Young and Anthony Brodeur are the percussionists and Carlo Ribaux plays the tambourine for The Old Fashioned. They all share vocal duties. They are based out of Los Angeles. Their taste in music spans every genre. With their ears to the top 40 charts, they take the songs and mix them together.
While disc jockeys mix the songs together with technology, The Old Fashioned harmonize and add their own spin the traditional way. On their YouTube channel, they have combined the following artists and songs together: Fetty Wap’s “Trap Queen”, Nick Jonas’ “Chains” and Taylor Swift’s “Trouble” and “Bad Blood”. Other mashups are included on their channel, with a combination of the four-piece. They have over 40 subscribers and several hundred views.
