DENVER – Brandon “CONRAD” Conrad is the bassist for The Breachers.
Conrad’s inspiration to become a musician came from times he spent after school with friends. At times—they hung out, skateboarded or played music. When he performed music on stage for the first time, he was nervous and excited. As he played his instrument, he tried his best to not mess up. When the set came to a close, the first thing he wanted to do was smoke a cigarette. At one time, he performed music in front of 250 to 300 people. His attention was focused on those in the first few rows.
Before being part of The Breachers, Conrad was in four bands: Dateless Wonder, Detective Jabsco, The Disasterbators and The Repercussions.
Kemuri’s “Little Playmate”, Morning Glory’s “This Is No Time ta Sleep”, “Rocker T & The Version City Rockers’ “Nicer By The Hour”, The Special’s self-titled album and V/A’s “Skarmageddon Vol. 3: A New Beginning” are Conrad’s five favorite records. His favorite live albums are The Parka Kings’ “Where’s The Afterparty?” and The Pietasters’ “Strapped Live!”.
If Conrad could set up a music festival with past and present music artists, he chose the following: Man or Astro-Man?, Scared of Chaka, Fishbone, Operation Ivy, Skinnerbox and/or The Stubborn All-Stars. His special request was to have Scared of Chakra perform their record, “Tired Of You”, from beginning to end. Also, he wanted the 1980’s lineup of Operation Ivy to perform.
Over the next five years, Conrad hopes The Breachers’ tours Europe and/or Japan. He wants to play music for those who appreciate and like their songs. He plans to play the drums again, learn to play the mandolin and continue to jam with musicians.
After one of The Breachers’ set has ended—Conrad wants the audience to walk away saying either of the following: “Those guys kicked ass!”, “Can’t wait to see them again”, “I can do that” and “Let’s start our own band.” When it comes to their EP, he wants the listeners to link warmhearted recollections with their tunes, similar to certain songs he had with songs he heard or the good times he had experienced.
On social media, The Breachers can be found on the platforms: Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and YouTube. Their music can be streamed and downloaded from: Bandcamp, CDBaby, iTunes and Spotify.
The Breachers’ self-titled EP (extended play) was released on Dec. 22, 2016.
