Burbank Comedy Festival to host regional showcases throughout the U.S.

BURBANK, Calif. – Burbank Comedy Festival will be holding showcases in various parts of the U.S. Few will be chosen to participate at the festival taking place from Aug. 13 through Aug. 19. The venues chosen are New York Comedy Club in New York, Rooster T. Feathers in Sunnyvale, Calif. and one will be announced in Austin, Texas in March. 25-50 slots will be opened, at the locations. All of the sites will have a two item minimum per person. Prices of admission will vary by venue.
Those wanting to participate in the events are required to pay a non-refundable submission fee of $10. Comedians are encouraged to invite their friends and family to attend. The comedians participating in the festivities by the Burbank Comedy Festival will be provided two to three minutes to perform their material, depending on the establishment. At each venue—two comics, audience vote and producer vote, will perform at the festival. Winners will be announced the same evening.
New York Comedy Club will have two performance times for the Burbank Comedy Festival event, 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. The date is set for on Oct. 26. For each time slot, 25 will be performing comedy. They will have three minutes to perform stand-up. Tickets to attend are $15 each and with a two item minimum purchase. The first 25 acts to pay the submission fee will be automatically chosen to perform in one of the time frames set. They will also receive one complimentary ticket, for a guest to attend. More comedians might be added to the event. However, it is up to the festival’s decision.
On Dec. 21, Rooster T. Feather’s will hold their Burbank Comedy Festival related affair. The time is set for 8 p.m. Participants will be provided three minutes of stage time, tickets are $15 per attendee, a two item minimum is enforced, the first 25 to sign will gain automatically entry, one ticket for a guest and more comedians might be added to the competition at the producer’s choice.
Over 50 special events have taken place at the Burbank Comedy Festival, during the three past years including: underground showcases, classes, workshops, industry panels, after parties and podcasts. Past performers include: Adam Carolla, Kate Flannery, Jeff Garlin, Tom Green, Wendy Liebman, Kel Mitchell, Jimmy Pardo, Tom Segura, Christopher Titus and many more.
