Carrot Top to perform at Florida Theatre

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Carrot Top’s east coast tour will conclude at Florida Theatre, on March 25. It will begin with two nights (March 17 and March 18) at Foxwoods Casino in Mashantucket, Conn.
When Scott “Carrot Top” Thompson was a freshman at Boca Raton, Fla.’s Florida Atlantic University—he witnessed his first stand-up comedy routine at a club. A few months had passed and he noticed the venue was having an open mic night, on a campus bulletin.
“I wasn’t going to do it but my roommate convinced me,” recalled Carrot Top. “He said ‘You’re funny.’ I was scared and did some old jokes but people liked it.”
During Carrot Top’s second attempt at stand-up comedy, he brought out his first prop. The following performance received a larger reaction and he continued to use props ever since. Now, he has 35 trunks full of props and brings them on the road with him via an 18-wheeler. He made over 30 television appearances.
“Nobody can steal my act,” Carrot Top stated. “I’ve challenged comics to write me a prop and they can’t. All comedians can use plays on words or puns but writing a visual joke is something else. A rubber chicken isn’t enough. I have to write my own material and make my own props because no one else sells what I do better than me. I’m happy not only that I have my own style but I’ve been an original from the very start.”
With over 30 years in comedy, Carrot Top has been performed in front of sold out crowds and an iconic figure in Las Vegas. In 2015, he celebrated his 10 year anniversary at the Luxor Resort and Casino. In the same year, he extended his contract with the establishment through 2020.
Tickets to see Carrot Top at Florida Theatre range from $39 to $59 and exclude convenience fees. Also available to purchase are the very important person (VIP) meet and greet pass. It is separate from the show tickets and $49 each. Each person with a VIP pass will receive a personalized 8x10 photo and access to the after show. They can be purchased online by clicking here, at the merchandise area and will end at the start of the performance.
