Epcot at Walt Disney World to host Christopher Cross

ORLANDO, Fla. – Christopher Cross will be performing at Disney World Resorts as part of the Eat to the Beat series, on Sept. 30 and Oct.1. The performances will take place at Epcot, he will be performing some of his hits and promoting his most recent album titled “Secret Ladder”. His tour will begin with the back-to-back performances and conclude on Feb. 26 at Port of Miami in Miami.
Cross made his debut with a self-titled album, in 1980. It featured the hit single “Sailing” and went onto win five GRAMMY Awards in the categories of Record of the Year, Album of the Year, Song of the Year and Best New Artist. “Sailing” won the awards for Record of the Year and Song of the Year. His other hits include “Ride Like The Wind” and “Arthur’s Theme (Best That You Can Do)” from the film, “Arthur”.
“Secret Ladder” was released in 2014 under Cross’ own record label, Christopher Cross Records. If has 13 tracks including: “Reverend Blowhard”, “I Don’t See It Your Way”, “The Times I Needed You”, “Island Of Anger”, “V”, “Experiment”, “Light The World”, “Simple”, “Wonderland”, “We Will Remember You”, “With Me Now”, “Got To Be A Better Way” and “A Letter To My Children”. For “Secret Album”—Cross had some help with the songwriting process with Rob Meurer and Stephen Bray. Bray also helped with the production of “Light The World”, alongside Cross. Cross and Michael McDonald provided vocals. He and Eric Johnson played the guitars, Will Lee (Fab Faux, “Late Night with David Letterman”) assisted on bass, Keith Carlock (Steely Dan, Toto) on drums, Eddy Hobizal on keyboards, David Mann on saxophone, Jeff Foskett (Brian Wilson’s musical director) and Abraham Laboriel, Jr. assisted with drums on “We Will Remember You”.
The Red Room in Austin, Texas, Avatar in New York, The Hall of Supreme Harmony, Los Angeles, Blue Rock Ranch & Studio in Wimberley, Texas and Saturn Sound in Studio City, Calif. were the studios where “Secret Ladder” was recorded. Sareth Ney is the entertainment journalist for A Quarter and Dream Pictures.
