Monster Energy Welcome To Rockville: Clutch and Megadeth

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Clutch was the headliner on the Monster Energy River Stage and Megadeth was the headliner on the Monster Energy Metropolitan Stage at Monster Energy Welcome To Rockville, on May 1. Beartooth and Issues were the opening act and Parkway Drive was direct support on the Monster Energy Metropolitan Stage. Texas Hippie Coalition, Memphis May Fire, We Came As Romans and Ghost were the openers and Anthrax was direct support on the Monster Energy Metropolitan Stage.
Neil Fallon is the vocalist and guitarist, Jean-Paul Gaster is the drummer, Dan Maines is the bassist and Tim Sult is the guitarist of Clutch. Fallon plays the cowbell.
“Crucial Victory” kicked off Clutch’s performance, after they were welcomed with cheers. As the song progressed, Sult performed a guitar solo.
During “X-Ray Visions”, Fallon noticed the sound was not projecting the way it should have been. As the sound issues were being taken care of, Fallon joked with the audience and shared a pair of knock knock jokes with them. After everything was resolved, they restarted the song.
“Electric Worry” brought Clutch’s concert to a close and the onlookers sang along with the chorus.
“Book, Saddle, & Go”, “Firebirds!”, “A Quick Death in Texas”, “Sucker for the Witch”, “Son of Virginia” and “D.C. Sound Attack!” were also part of Clutch’s set.

Spectators occupied the grounds in front of the Monster Energy Metropolitan Stage from the back of the barricade to the front of the concessions, before Megadeth’s recital. Smoke ascended from the lights near the stage and the crowd cheered, as Megadeth made their way onto the platform. They began their performance with “Prince of Darkness”.
Vic Rattlehead, Megadeth’s mascot, hyped the crowd during Megadeth’s showcase. They ended their performance with a cover of Sid Vicious’ “My Way”. Afterwards, they gave away drum sticks and guitar picks.
“Hangar 18”, “The Threat Is Real”, “Sweating Bullets”, “Trust”, “Sweating Bullets”, “Trust”, “Fatal Illusion”, “Symphony of Destruction”, “Dystopia”, “Peace Sells”, “Holy Wars… The Punishment Due” and “Silent Scorn” were also part of Megadeth’s set.
Other notable acts took place on the Monster Energy Righty Stage including: From Ashes To New, Sick Puppies, P.O.D., Cypress Hill, A Day To Remember and Rob Zombie.
