Craig Ferguson's "The New Deal Tour" to take the stage at Florida Theatre

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Craig Ferguson’s “The New Deal” tour will make a stop at the Jacksonville Theatre, on Dec. 2. The tour began on Sept. 17 at Comedy Works in Denver and it will conclude on Dec. 20 at Snoqualmie Casino in Snoqualmie, Wash.
Ferguson was born in Glasgow, Scotland. During his upbringing, he was a drummer in many punk rock bands in the U.K. Shortly after, he began to bartend in his birth city. While bartending—he met Michael Boyd, artistic director of Tron Theatre. Boyd encouraged Ferguson to venture into acting.
Through Ferguson’s journey as an actor—he starred in the BBC television show, “The Ferguson Theory”. When he migrated to the U.S., he landed a role with Betty White and Marie Osmond on “Maybe This Time”. After the show ended, he starred as Nigel Wick on “The Drew Carey Show” for eight seasons. He hosted “The Late, Late Show” for a decade and current host of “Celebrity Name Game”. His most recent television show, “Craig Ferguson: Just Being Honest”, premiered on EPIX on Sept. 10.
During Ferguson’s stand-up comedy career, he sold out Radio City Music Hall and Carnegie Hall. He has starred in three comedy specials including “A Wee Bit O’ Revolution”, “Does This Need to Be Said” and “I’m Here To Help”. The last of which earned him a 2014 Grammy nomination for Best Comedy Album.
“The Big Tease” and “Saving Grace” were two featured films written by Ferguson. He directed and starred in “I’ll Be There”. He can also be seen in “Born Romantic”, “Chain of Fools”, “Lenny the Wonder Dog”, “Life Without Dick”, “Niagara Motel”, “Prendimi I’anima” and “The Big Tease”. He has done voiceover work for “Brave”, “How To Train Your Dragon”, “How To Train Your Dragon Two” and “Winnie The Pooh”. He went onto find Lollipop Theater Network, which brings current theatrical releases to ailing children in hospitals.
“American On Purpose” and “Between the Bridge and the River” are two bestselling books, Ferguson has authored. “American On Purpose” was a memoir about his life, how he earned his U.S. citizenship and it was his first novel he had penned.
