DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Metallica will headline two dates each and five festivals in 2020, including Welcome To Rockville (May 8 – 10) at Daytona International Speedway in Daytona Beach, Fla. The others are: Epicenter (May 1 – 3) at Charlotte Motor Speedway in Charlotte, N.C., Sonic Temple Art + Music Festival (May 15 – 17) at MAPFRE Stadium in Columbus, Ohio, Louder Than Life (Sept. 18 – 20) at Highland Festival Grounds at KY Expo Center in Louisville, Ky. and Aftershock (Oct. 9 – 11) at Discovery Park in Sacramento, Calif. These 10 performances are Metallica’s only performances in the U.S., in 2020. Each set lists are different from each other. The festivals are produced by Danny Wimmer Presents (DWP).
"Metallica isn't just another headliner. When Metallica takes the stage, it's an event. It's an experience. That's the same standard we've set for every DWP festival — from the first band to the last band, and everything that happens in between. I can't wait to bring the biggest band in the world to the biggest rock festivals in America," says Danny Wimmer, founder of Danny Wimmer Presents, the largest independent festival producer in the U.S. "Metallica paved this road that we travel. How many artists on the bill at these five festivals first picked up an instrument, or first started a band, because of Metallica?"
Tickets are available for those part of Metallica’s fan club, as well as past purchasers of tickets of DWP events. Tickets are available on Oct. 14 at 9 a.m. Pacific Time and noon Eastern Time for the general public. Tickets can be purchased at: www.MetallicaXX.com, Epicenter, Welcome To Rockville, Sonic Temple Art + Music Festival, Louder Than Life and Aftershock. For every ticket sold through Nov. 19, DWP donates $.25 to Metallica’s All Within My Hands Foundation. For more information, visit www.allwithinmyhands.org.
DWP will have a Golden Ticket contest. One person receives all expenses paid to see Metallica at one of the festivals including: rock star accommodations, exclusive festival access, watch from Metallica Snake Pit, meet and greets, memorabilia and more. Enter by purchasing weekend general admission or weekend very important person pass, signing up for Fifth Member Fan Club and signing up for the 2020 newsletters. It is open from Oct. 10 through Nov. 19. Winner must be 18 years old by May 1, 2020. For more information, visit www.metallicaxx.com.
