JACKSONVILLE, Fla.—Dear Abbey went postal at Beach Boulevard Concert Hall, on March 14. They were the opening act along with Manna Zen, Stone Bone and Adrenaline Mob. Full Devil Jacket was the direct support and Drowning Pool was the headliner.
Jeremy Hunter is the vocalist and guitarist, Daniel Cloud is the backup vocalist and guitarist, Dusty Cross is the bassist and Josh Murphy is the drummer of Dear Abbey.
“The Words I Say A Lot” was the first song of Dear Abbey’s performance. After it had concluded—Hunter mentioned they were from Lake City, Fla. He went onto say the next song, “Parasite”, was a brand new song and he hoped everyone would like it. During the chorus, Cloud assisted with backup vocals. After it came to an end, fans cheered with approval.
Prior to “Pills + Thrills”, Hunter spoke of how the song was inspired by the addiction of consuming too many prescription drugs. As Cloud had done prior with “The Words I Say A Lot”, he assisted Hunter with the backup vocals. Cross sang along with word with his eyes closed and played his bass, as he stood away from his microphone. Meanwhile, Murphy incorporated the majority of the pieces of his drum set.
Before Dear Abbey began “Nice To Know You”, Hunter spoke to the audience and hoped they were having fun. Later on, he pointed over to Cloud and he went onto perform a guitar solo. Hunter asked the spectators to sing along with him, mentioned how cool it would be for them to participate, he provided the lyrics for them to sing and they assisted him with finishing the last half of the lyrics twice over. As the song came to an end, Hunter displayed some comedic antics before bringing the song to an end.
After “Always You” came to an end, Hunter introduced Dear Abbey one last time and reminded the onlookers where they were from. He mentioned the rest of the bands on the bill with them. He encouraged those in attendance to visit Dear Abbey at the merchandise table. Just as Hunter was about to part the stage, a spectator shouted how they wanted an album from them. Hunter responded by letting them know they wanted one too and how they were working on getting it available to their fans.
“How You Found Me” was also part of Dear Abbey’s set.
