JACKSONVILLE, Fla.—Drowning Pool continued the second leg of the “Unlucky 13 Anniversary” of “Sinner” at Beach Boulevard Concert Hall, on March 14. They were the headliners. Dear Abbey, Manna Zen, Stone Bone and Adrenaline Mob were the opening acts. Full Devil Jacket was the direct support.
CJ Pierce is the guitarist and backup vocalist, Stevie Benton is the bassist and backup vocalist, Mike Luce is the drummer and backup vocalist ad Jason Moreno is the vocalist of Drowning Pool.
An instrumental was heard, as Luce sat behind his drum set. Every so often, he would strike his cymbals rapidly. As he did so, the audience embraced with applause and cheers. He was soon joined on stage with Benton, Pierce and Moreno. After they made their way on stage, Drowning Pool began their performance with “Step Up”.
Before the start of “One Finger And A Fist”, Luce stood up from behind his drum set and he spoke of the origins of the song. He encouraged the audience to follow his lead and had everyone raise their middle fingers above his head. He went onto dedicate the hand motions to all of the haters in each of their lives. After sitting back down, he helped provide backup lyrics to the choruses with Pierce and Benton.
Prior to “Pity”, Luce spoke to the onlookers for a while. He mentioned how they were celebrating the the 13th anniversary of “Sinner”. He spoke on behalf of Drowning Pool, how appreciative they were for their fans. During the song, Moreno stood on top of Luce’s drum set. He went onto jump off and landed at 90˚. As he landed on his feet, he continued to provide the lyrics.
Without letting the venue become quiet, Drowning Pool transitioned from “Told You So” to “Bodies”. Members of Adrenaline Mob and Full Devil Jacket made their way onto the stage. As the choruses were sung, they shared microphones with Benton and Pierce and sang along. As the song was coming to an end, Pierce found a way to suspend his guitar in a vertical position. He went onto strum the guitar with the pick in hand. In the end, he turned his back from the crowd and threw his guitar pick over his head.
“Think”, “Feel Like I Do”, “Sermon”, “Reminded”, “Mute”, “Soul”, “Tear Away”, “I Am”, “Sinner”, “Follow” and “Hate” were also part of Drowning Pool’s set.
