SATELLITE BEACH, Fla. – Ebeneezer Potter is stand-up comedian with roots stemming from Satellite Beach, Fla. He credits his younger brother, Kyle, as his inspiration and motivation to get on stage and perform comedy. He states he is greatly thankful for his younger brother. He graces the stage of Wynfield’s Sports Bar in Satellite Beach, every second Friday of each month.
Looking back on the first time Potter had approached the platform to showcase his jokes, he cited he hardly became nervous and how skeptical he was. He had prior stage presence, when he was part of a band. His experience to stand alone and making people laugh was a whole other experience.
Potter’s favorite comedy specials are anything featuring the late comedian, Mitch Hedberg. His favorite comedy television programs include “Seinfeld” and “The Simpsons”. His favorite of all-time is “The Office”. He compliments the program for being well written. His favorite comedy films include: “Dumb and Dumber”, “There’s Something About Mary”, “Fast Times at Ridgemont High”, “Walk Hard”, “Caddyshack” and the first two installments of the “Home Alone” franchise.
If Potter could go on tour with any comedian, he chose Dave Chappelle. In the comedy tradition of a roast, the comedians past or present he would love to get roasted by include: Greg Giraldo, Lisa Lampanelli, Sam Kinison, Katt Williams and Jeffrey Ross. He considered them to be the best and he claimed Ross to be the king of roasting.
Other than stand-up comedy, Potter hosts his own comedy show once a month and loves every moment. It gives him the opportunity to bring people together for one common cause and it is laughter.
With his brother, Kyle, he writes comedy sketches. He is passionate about writing comedic material. His goal is to create more sketches and host his own comedy sketch show, in the next five years. He sees himself writing more than performing.
The experience Potter would like his audience to take with them after a set is over is for them to return for a future performance. He hopes they laugh while they dine and to spread the word about the times they share. He states there is nothing cooler than making others laugh.
