LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Aaron Craker and Jenni Cochran of Frederick The Younger had an e-mail interview with Sareth Ney of A Quarter and a Dream Pictures. Their questions and answers can be read below:
Sareth Ney: What inspired you to become a musician?
Aaron Craker: Listening to Nirvana's “Nevermind”. I got a cheap electric guitar and learned "Smells Like Teen Spirit" and have been hooked ever since.
SN: What was the feeling like, when you performed your music on stage for the first time?
Jenni Cochran: Very scary!
AC: Can't remember. I blacked out.
SN: Which are your favorite studio and live albums?
JC: My favorites are Elliott Smith's “Either/Or”, The Beatles' “White Album”, Roy Orbison's “Crying”, Angel Olsen's “Burn Your Fire for No Witness”, Father John Misty's “I Love You, Honeybear”, Sufjan Stevens' “Seven Swans”, Sharon Van Etten's “Tramp"
SN: Which musician/band would you like to go on tour with?
JC AND AC: Beck, Dr. Dog, Houndmouth, Angel Olsen, Father John Misty
SN: If you could set up the bill for GonzoFest, which musical acts would you have on the bill with you (past or present)?
JC and AC: The Beatles, Nirvana, Beethoven, Mozart as a 5 year old, Miles Davis, Roy Orbison, Elliott Smith, Father John Misty, Angel Olsen, Beck, Dr. Dog, Bahamas
SN: Where do you see your music career, in the next five years?
JC: Touring all over the world hopefully!
SN: Which other parts of the music industry would you like to work in (i.e. mastering, mixing, producing, etc.)?
AC: I'd like to engineer and produce

SN: What experience would you like for your audience to take with them, after listening to an album and from seeing you perform live?
AC: I'd like people to feel like they made a personal connection. And also to walk away thinking, 'those are some badass mofos.
Frederick The Younger also consists of Matt Kohorst, John Barrera and Dave Givan. The music group describes their style as “Feisty Sunshine Rock”. They will be releasing their first full length album, “Human Child, on Feb. 3. They will have a release party for it at the Headliner Music Hall. Joann + the Dakota and Voodoo Economics will also be part of the lineup. Doors open at 8 p.m.
