Funk Fest Jacksonville to take place at Metropolitan Park

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Funk Fest will be bringing a mixture of hip-hop and rhythm and blues (R & B) to Metropolitan Park, on May 6 and May 7. It will be the second of five stops and featuring a different lineup at each location. LL Cool J, New Edition, Master P, Floetry, Dru Hill and Jon B are slated for the bill. It is subject to change. On May 6, gates will open at 4 p.m. The showcase will start at 6 p.m. On May 7, gates will open at 2 p.m. The performances will begin at 4 p.m.
Four tiers of ticket packages are available: general admission, preferred/reserved, gold very important person (VIP) and platinum VIP. They are available for purchase online and over the phone. The Athlete's Foot (5922 Normandy Boulevard and 6024 Merrill & Cesery) and Church’s Chicken (Dunn Avenue and Normandy Boulevard) will have them on hand too.
General admission tickets are on a first come, first served basis. Lawn chairs are allowed and standing room is available. It is one space per ticket. Preferred and reserved tickets will be in theater form seating and located behind the VIP section. Chairs will be provided. The seating area does not include tables. Outside chairs will not be allowed in because it will be one seat per ticket.
Each VIP area will include one chair to a table. Each table will have seating room for eight guests and located directly in front of the stage. The VIP area includes a bar, restrooms and vendors. One seat will be reserved for each ticket holder. Platinum VIP ticket holders will have access to the first two rows and will receive five free drink tickets.
Funk Fest is sponsored by Pepsi. It is a rain or shine event. No refunds or exchanges will be issued. Guests can bring ponchos and/or umbrellas. Umbrellas can only be used during the rain. Tents, grills, golf umbrellas, video recorders, outside food and/or beverages and bags larger than 12 x 12 will not be permitted. Pets will not be allowed into the event, unless they are service animals. Guests are encouraged to stay at The Omni Hotel Downtown Jacksonville, for Funk Fest special rates.
