Monster Energy Welcome To Rockville: Ghost and Anthrax

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Ghost was one of the opening acts and Anthrax was the direct support on the Monster Energy Metropolitan Stage at Monster Energy Welcome To Rockville, on May 1. Texas Hippie Coalition, Memphis May Fire and We Came As Romans were the other openers. Megadeth was the headlining act.
Papa Emeritus III is the vocalist and plays the kazoo, Nameless Ghoul Alpha is the lead guitarist, Nameless Ghoul Water is the bassist, Nameless Ghoul Wind is the keyboardist, Nameless Ghoul Earth is the drummer and Nameless Ghoul Omega is the rhythm guitarist of Ghost.
An instrumental played and later accompanied with chanting, as Ghost took the stage. Nameless Ghoul Earth played the drums first and the band soon accompanied him. Emeritus III asked the crowd if they were with them and they began their recital with “From The Pinnacle to the Pit”.
Prior to “Absolution”, Emeritus III thanked the onlookers and asked if they were scorching from the heat. He mentioned they were hot on stage, as well. They would go onto end their portion with “Mommy Dust” and Emeritus III stated they would return to Fla.
“Stand By Him”, “Cirice”, “Spösonat”, “He Is” and “Ritual” were also part of Ghost’s set.

Scott Ian is the rhythm guitarist, Charlie Benante is the drummer and percussionist, Frank Bello is the bassist, Joey Belladonna is the lead vocalist and Jonathan Donais the lead guitarist. Bello and Ian assist with backup vocals. Often, Ian and Benante assist with lead vocals.

Ian interacted with spectators, before “Evil Twin”. He wanted to see if they were the loudest between the fans from the night before, when they performed at Monster Energy Fort Rock. After a set of cheers, he spoke of Anthrax’s most recent album, “For All Kings”, and mentioned the next song could be heard on it. After the performance, they ended with “Breathing Lighting” and “Indians”.
Joe Jackson’s “Got The Time”, Trust’s “Antisocial”, “Fight ‘Em ‘Til You Can’t” were also part of Anthrax’s showcase.
Other notable performances took place on the Monster Energy Lefty Stage at Monster Energy Welcome To Rockville including: Glorious Sons, Avatar, Yelawolf, Sevendust, Lamb of God and Five Finger Death Punch.
