Great American Comedy Festival to celebrate 10 years in Norfolk, Neb.

NORFOLK, Neb. – Great American Comedy Festival will be taking place at Johnny Carson Theatre, from June 14 through June 17. It will also be celebrating 10 years and presented by NUCOR Steel Nebraska.
Opening Nigh Tribute is set to occur on June 14. A screening of “Johnny Goes Home” and a documentary of those involved with the production will follow. A sneak peek of Seeso’s “There’s …. Johnny!” will also be shown. Paul Reiser and David Steven Simon are the creators of the show. It is free, open to the public and a reception for the festival sponsors will be held.
For June 15, the annual comedy and magic show is set to take place. Richard Barrett, manager of Hermosa Beach, Calif.’s Comedy and Magic Club, is the booker of the show. For the performance—Marcus Monroe, Jeff Evason, Tessa Evason, Kalin and Jinger are set to showcase their talents. Adult tickets are $20 plus fees, $25 on the day of the show and children’s tickets are $5 plus fees with tax included. It starts at 7 p.m.
On June 16, Eddie Brill will host a night of stand-up comedy. Wendy Liebman is the headliner. Deacon Gray, Kermet Apio, Ryan Hamilton, Pete Lee, Phil Palisoul, Brian Kiley, Brad Wenzel and Mark Normand are all scheduled to perform. They have all won one of the past festival competitions at the Great American Comedy Festival. It is called Best of the Fest. Tickets are $25 plus fee, tax is included and will be $30 on the day of the show. It begins at 7:00 p.m.
Saturday afternoon panel discussion is free to attend, on June 17. It will feature writers of “The Tonight Show” and moderated by Dick Cavett. The panel includes: Mike Reiss, Andrew Nicholls, Darrell Vickers and Simon. It is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Divots Conference Center will host Meet & Mingle at10 p.m. Tickets are $20, fees and taxes are included.
During the Saturday Evening Gala on June 17—Martin Short will perform comedy along with the following comedians: Larry Miller, Mike E. Winfield, Tommy Johnagin and Caroline Rhea. They have all headlined, at previous Great American Comedy Festivals. Robert Klein will be honored with the Johnny Carson Comedy Legend Award. It is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $60 and $65 plus fees with taxes included. They will be $65 and $70, on the day of the show.
