Gwar to celebrate 30 years at Freebird Live with Butcher Babies and Battlecross

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – GWAR will make a tour stop celebrating 30 years with Butcher Babies and Battlecross at Freebird Live, on Sept. 9. The tour began on Aug. 25 at Mr. Smalls Theater in Millvale, Penn. It will conclude on Sept. 18 at Water Street Music Hall in Rochester, N.Y.
Michael “Blothar” Bishop is the vocalist and bassist, Mike “Balsac the Jaws of Death” Derks is the rhythm guitarist, Bran “Jizmak Da Gusha” Roberts is the drummer and percussionist, Jamison “Beefcake the Mighty” Land is the bassist and Brent “Pustulus Maximus” Purgason is the lead guitarist of GWAR. Bob “Bonesnapper” Gorman, Matt “Sawborg Destructo” Maguire, Derks, Land and Purgason and Maguire provide backup vocals. With the tour, GWAR will be playing festival dates. They will be adding more dates too.
Heidi Shepherd and Carla Harvey are the vocalists, Henry Flury is the guitarist, Jason Klein is the bassist and Chrissy Warner is the drummer of Butcher Babies. They are promoting their most recent full-length studio album, “Take It Like A Man”. The “Take It Like A Man” track listing are: “Monsters Ball”, “Igniter”, “The Cleansing”, “The Butcher”, “Gravemaker”, “Thrown Away”, “Never Go Back”, “Marquee”, “Blood Soaked Hero”, “Dead Man Walking”, “For the Fight” and “Blonde Girls All Look The Same”.
Kyle “Gumby” Gunther is the vocalist, Tony Asta and Hiran Deraniyagala are the guitarists and Don Slater is the bassist and Alex Bent is the drummer of Battlecross. They are on tour promoting “Rise To Power”. It was produced by Jason Suecof, mixed and mastered by Mark Lewis and the artwork was by Péter Sallai. Tracks for “Rise To Power” are: “Scars”, “Not Your Slave”, “Absence”, “Spoiled”, “The Climb”, “Blood & Lies”, “Bound by Fear”, “Despised”, Shackles” and “The Path”.

Sareth Ney is the entertainment journalist for A Quarter and Dream Pictures. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Mass Communications and Center for New Media from Colorado State University-Pueblo.
