HARLEM, N.Y. – Harlem Comedy Festival is accepting submissions via comedysoapbox.com. It takes place from Sept. 24 through Sept. 26.
Videos being submitted for Harlem Comedy Festival can range between four and 10 minutes. The Uniform Resource Locator (URL) must be entered, instead of the embed code. Not everyone submitting footage will be chosen to participate.
Along with the content, there will be submission fees for Harlem Comedy Festival. The early pricing is $15 and the deadline is June 15. The regular fee is $20 and due by Aug. 25. The late entry is $25 and is set for Aug. 31. Those selected will be announced on or prior to Sept. 3.
There will be two categories, showcase and competition, at Harlem Comedy Festival. There will be 15 competitors and each will perform about three times. There will be three rounds, five comedians will perform six minutes each and the other 10 will perform two minute sets. The three winners will perform once more. The first runner up will perform for a fifth time and host the improv showcase, on the last night of the event. For the first place winner, they will earn a feature performance as their fifth and it will be at the best of fest portion. The first place winner receives $100; second place gets $50 and third earns $25.
Three levels of sponsorship opportunities are available for the Harlem Comedy Festival. They are bronze ($750), silver ($2,500) and gold ($5,000). For the bronze package—sponsors will receive ad placement on the website, back drop, pamphlet and gift bag. Silver package comes with logo on website, special announcement at the event and social media promotion. Their logo will appear on the poster, banners, back drop, pamphlet and gift bag. Gold package includes logo on website, special announcement at all events, dedicated stand, ad on festival website and social media promotion. Logos will be placed on poster, banners, pamphlet, back drop, the gift bag and staff and event shirts.
Neruda Williams is the executive director, William Allen is the community liaison, Frank Pellegrino is the creative consultant, Geoffrey Krawczyk is the art director and Kristin Grant and Alex Barnett are the legal consultants of Harlem Comedy Festival.
