DENVER – High Plains Comedy Festival will be taking place at multiple venues, from Aug. 25 through Aug. 27. The venues hosting the festival include: Paramount Theatre, Mutiny Information Café, The Hi-Dive and 3 Kings Tavern. Every Aug., local and national comedians perform in array of venues in the Baker neighborhood. The area is surrounded by South Broadway.
Adam Cayton-Holland, comedian and writer, created High Plains Comedy Festival in 2013. His television appearances include: “Conan”, Comedy Central’s “@midnight”, ABC’s “Happy Endings”, “The Pete Holmes Show” and TruTV’s “Those Who Can’t”. His online presence can be heard on an episode of the Nerdist podcast and can be seen on Funny or Die’s “Road 2 Oddball Tour”. His festival appearances include: Montréal Just For Laughs, South By Southwest, Bridgetown Comedy and Rooftop Comedy.
Garfunkel & Oates will be headlining the Paramount Theatre, on Aug 27. Sharing the same bill with them are Kyle Kinane and Cameron Esposito. Over 70 acts will be part of the lineup. They will be announced along with the schedules, as the dates for High Plains Comedy Festival draws closer. Paramount Theatre and Mutiny Information Café are both all-ages venues. The Hi-Dive and 3 Kings Tavern are 21+ venues, due to the venues setting in a bar environment.
Early bird specials for both VIP and VIP+ tickets are sold out, for the High Plains Comedy Festival. However, tickets for tiers are still available. The VIP pass includes entrance to all of the festival’s shows, mezzanine seating at Paramount Theatre, access to the private VIP party before the show at Paramount Theatre and a collectible t-shirt from the event. The VIP+ includes all mentioned prior and a hoodie.
On Aug. 25 and Aug. 26, a variety of events will take place including: stand-up comedy shows, podcasts and game shows. After the headlining show at Paramount Theatre on Aug. 27, there will be a final show and after-parties throughout the South Broadway area. All of the surrounding events are on a first-come, first served basis. All pass holders will be guaranteed admission to Paramount Theatre.
TruTV is the presenting sponsor of High Plains Comedy Festival. Their title sponsor is Illegal Pete’s and their partnering sponsor is Comedy Works Entertainment. More sponsors will be announced.
