Jimmie J.J. Walker to take the stage at Comedy Zone of Jacksonville

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Jimmie “JJ” Walker will be performing five comedy sets at Comedy Zone of Jacksonville, from Feb. 16 through Feb. 18. He is an actor and comedian.
On June 25, 1947—Walker was born in the borough of Bronx, in New York. While he was part of Search for Education, Evaluation and Knowledge (SEEK), he discovered he had the ability to make people laugh.
In 1967, Walker joined The Last Poets by way of a friend’s introduction and it would lead to becoming an opening act for Poets at the East Wind in Harlem. He would go onto perform stand-up comedy with Bette Midler, David Brenner and Steve Landesberg at various comedy clubs throughout New York City. In 1972, Time Magazine called Walker the “Comedian of the Decade”.
Television programs Walker has co-starred include: “Tony Orlando and Dawn”, “The Bob Hope Show”,
“The Greatest Thing That Almost Happened”, “Good Times”, “B.A.D. Cats”, “Murder Can Hurt You!”, “Today’s F.B.I.”, “Fantasy Island”, “Cagney & Lacey”, “At Ease”, “The Jerk, Too”, “The Fall Guy”, “The Love Boat”, “Bustin’ Loose”, “The Larry Saunders Show”, “Deadly Games”, “In the House”, “Night Stand”, “The John Larroquette Show”, “L’histoire du samedi”, “The Drew Carey Show”, “Scrubs”, “Son of the Beach”, “George Lopez”, “A Very Elimidate Christmas”,”Minioriteam”, “Everybody Hates Chris”, “Funny or Die Presents…”, “Traffic Light” and “Mr. Box Office”. The set times for both dates will be 7:30 p.m. and 9:45 p.m., at the Comedy Zone. Ticket prices are $15 for the outer circle, $18 for the inner circle and $92.50 for both circle seats. The $92.50 price range includes dinner at GiGi’s, one ticket, overnight stay at Ramada Mandarin and must be purchased in pairs. Prices exclude service fee and tax.
