ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla.— Barenaked Ladies have recruited new acts to their annual Last Tour on Earth showcase and it will make a tour stop at The St. Augustine Amphitheatre, on July 11. This time around, Violent Femmes and Colin Hay will join them.
Jim Creeggan is the bassist, Ed Robertson is the lead vocalist, acoustic and electric guitarist, Kevin Hearn is the guitarist, keyboardist and plays the accordion and Tyler Stewart is the drummer of Barenaked Ladies. Creeggan, Hearn and Stewart also provide the backup vocals.
“Silverball” is the 14th album Barenaked Ladies released and they are on tour promoting it. The inspiration of the mature, dealing with midlife album can be described as being “battered and bruised by life” with boxing metaphors. For more detailed information about it, click here.
Gordon Gano is the lead vocalist, guitarist and violinist, Brian Ritchie is the bassist, keyboardist and plays the shakuhachi and xylophone and Brian Viglione is the drummer and percussionist for Violent Femmes. Viglione and Ritchie also provide the backup vocals.
Violent Femmes began as an acoustic act and they started in Milwaukee. After making the world their stage, they performed outside of a Pretenders concert. After they were invited to be the opener, their career skyrocketed and are celebrating the 30th anniversary of their debut.
Colin Hay is known for Men At Work. He is promoting his solo album, “Next Year People”. It was produced by him and mixed by Chad Fischer (Ice age 3, Lisa Loeb). Over the last 15 years, Hay has gone solo and sold out venues.
