PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. – Matisyahu will be performing two nights in a row at Ponte Vedra Concert Hall, on Dec. 18 and Dec. 19. The back-to-back event is called “Festival of Light: An Intimate Evening with Matisyahu”. They are part of his current Dec. tour which started on Dec. 3 at Olympia De Montreal in Montreal, Canada. It will conclude on Dec. 30 at Kravis Center for the Performing Arts in West Palm Beach, Fla. He will be on tour promoting his most recent live album, “Live at Stubb’s III: A 10-Year Journey”.
The first volume of Matisyahu’s “Live at Stubb’s” was released in 2005 and it reached the number one spot on the Billboard Reggae Albums Chart. The second was released in 2011. On March 7, 2105, he recorded the third installment, “Live at Stubb’s III: A 10-Year Journey”, at the Austin, Texas venue. The first was described as “a classic of live performances”, the second was described as “super-charged concert experience at it’s best” and the third was described as “no additives”.
“Live at Stubb’s III: A 10-Year Journey” has been described as a “bootleg recording of Bob Dylan singing in a smoke-filled club in the early 60s”, “a great poet-musician on open mic night”, “soaks in the music and allows it to take its own twists and turns” and “deep, soulful”.
When Matisyahu recorded “Live at Stubb’s III: A 10-Year Journey”, he reunited with three friends from The School for Jazz and Contemporary Music in New York. Aaron Dugan assisted on guitar, Rob Marscher played the keyboard and Tim Keiper provided percussion. Dugan also assisted Matisyahu on the first installment of the series. They will be accompanying him for the Dec. tour.
The album’s track listing for Matisyahu’s “Live at Stubb’s III: A 10-Year Journey” include: “Searchin”, “Lord Raise Me Up”, “Running Away”, “Warrior”, “So High So Low” and “King Without a Crown”. The visuals include all songs, as well as: “Indestructible”, “Close My Eyes”, “One Day” and “Reservoir”. It was released on Fallen Sparks Records and marketed and distributed by Razor & Tie Direct, LLC.
