Mile High Horror Film Festival will celebrate six years at Alamo Draft House

LITTLETON, Colo.—Mile High Horror Film Festival will be returning for the sixth year and will once again take place at the Alamo Draft House, from Oct. 1 through Oct. 4. As they welcome new horror filmmakers, they will also be celebrating everything related to horror of yesteryear.
In honor of the 90th anniversary of horror film, “The Phantom of the Opera” (1925), it will be honored with a screening. There will be a question and answer (Q & A) segment with Lon Chaney Sr.’s great grandson, Ron Chaney, as well. He will be accepting two retrospective Lifetime Achievement Awards, on behalf of Lon Chaney, Sr. and Lon Chaney, Jr. During the film’s screening, Paul Buscarello, will be performing a score with the presentation.
Fangoria will be presenting the 30th anniversary of “The Return Of The Living Dead”. It will be a one night only event will be viewed via VHS because it is the only format in which the original soundtrack can be heard throughout. After the film presentation—scream queen, Linnea Quigley, will have a question and answer (Q & A) session. It will be conducted by Fangoria’s Managing Web Editor, Ken W. Hanley. There will also be a limited edition movie poster of the film available for purchase and the artwork will be revealed on Fangoria’s website, as the festival dates approach.
Kane Hodder has been announced as one of the special guests at Mile High Horror Film Festival. Hodder has acted in over 100 films including, his role as Jason Voorhees in some of the “Friday The 13th” films and television series. He portrayed Victor Crowley in the “Hatchet” series, as well. He has a book about his life called “Unmasked”.
Musical acts at Mile High Horror Film Festival include: First Jason, Viretta, Chimney Choir, Arise In Chaos, Eye Of Minerva, Native Daughters and Wheelchair Sports Camp. Fangoria’s podcast, We’ll See You In Hell, will be broadcasted live. It will be hosted by Joe DeRosa (“Better Call Saul”) and Patrick Walsh (It’s Almost Sunny In Philadelphia”).
