My Only Safe Haven's travels leads them to Jack Rabbits with Hopson Road

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - My Only Safe Haven is set to arrive at Jack Rabbits, on July 24. Sharing the stage with them will be Hopson Road. My Only Safe Haven’s July tour will begin at Springwater Supper Club in Nashville, Tenn., on July 21. It will come to a conclusion at Pianos in New York, on July 31.
Kayla Saunders is the lead vocalist, Brian Sexton is the drummer, Preston Belcher is the guitarist and Taylor Ray plays the synth, keyboard and bass for My Only Safe Haven. They are a diverse blend of alternative, pop-punk and Christian rock. Their roots are from Beckley, W.V.
When My Only Safe Haven began their music journey, they went by SafeHaven”. The name changed to cater to their message, music and style. They chose to create music because they are believers music heals and helps people, through faith.
In April of 2015, My Only Safe Haven released their first extended play (EP) called “Letters”. It included six songs: “In God We Trust”, “Falling Up”, “Today”, “Beautiful Life”, “This Is Your Story, Not a Goodbye Letter” and ‘Can’t Get Enough”. In Feb. of 2016, they distributed their follow up titled “Black & White”. It featured seven songs: “Black & White”, “Beautiful Life”, “In God We Still Trust”, “Can’t Get Enough” and “This Is Your Story, Not a Goodbye Letter”, “Falling Up” and “Today”.
Chevy Oakes is the vocalist, Hunter Hileman is the guitarist, James Cissel is the bassist, Ian Poland is the keyboardist and Christian Pittman is the drummer of Hopson Road. They describe their sound as a combination of half-chub, alternative and indie rock. They consist of musicians from the high school and college levels and they call Jacksonville Beach, Fla. home. Currently, they have one single out called “Faux”. It is available on several digital platforms including: Apple, Spotify, Souncloud and more.
At the moment—“Faux” has been streamed on SoundCloud over 1,100 times, lived by 38 and reposted 15 times. “Stay With Me” was another Hopson Road uploaded. It currently has over 420 streams.
Hopson Road’s name was inspired by the street Hileman and Cissel grew up on. Oakes reunited with the band. Hileman and
Cissel invited their cousins, Poland and Pittman, to complete the band. Their goal in music is to blend in their upbringings in music, bring it all together and progresses into something everyone will enjoy listening to.
