Richard Marx set to perform at Ponte Vedra Concert Hall

PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. – Richard Marx will be making a tour stop at Ponte Vedra Concert Hall, on Feb. 27. The expedition began at State Theatre in Kalamazoo, Mich., on Feb. 5. It will conclude at Jupiters Hotel & Casino Gold Coast in Gold Coast, Australia, on June 18.
Marx is a performer, producer and songwriter from Chicago. His career spans nearly 30 years and selling over 30 million records globally. He also donates his time, money and efforts to many causes.
Marx released his self-titled debut album, in 1987. It reached number eight on the charts It also featured four top five singles. The album would go onto earn him a Grammy nomination in the Best Male Rock Vocal Performance category.
In 1989, Marx followed up with “Repeat Offender”. The singles, “Satisfied” and “Right Here Waiting”, both reached number one and went quadruple-platinum each. His next two albums, “Rush Street” and “Paid Vacation”, would also reach platinum status on the adult contemporary charts. His eighth and latest record, “Beautiful Goodbye”, was released in 2014.
As a songwriter and producer, Marx collaborated with many in the music industry. He assisted with the songwriting process alongside the following artists and songs: Josh Groban’s “To Where You Are”, *NSYNC’s “This I Promise You”, Luther Vandross’ “Dance with My Father” and Keith Urban’s “Long Hot Summer”. Vandross’ “Dance With My Father”, earned him a 2004 Song of the Year Grammy.
As a philanthropist, Marx’s royalties from his single “Should’ve Known Better” were donated to build a room at the NYU Medical Center for pediatric cancer patients. The Children of the Night Foundation has risen over $500,000 and benefits homeless children. Every year, Marx sets up an all-star benefit concert for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. The annual event has earned over $4 million for research to find a cure.
Benefit concerts Marx has performed at include: American Cancer Society, Best Buddies, Make a Wish Foundation, Special Olympics, TJ Martell Foundation and Toys for Tots and Special Olympics. Since 2008, he has hosted events for the Ronald McDonald House Charities in Chicago. He has performed overseas for the U.S. troops in Germany.
