JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Rob Schneider will be performing four comedy sets at The Comedy Zone Jacksonville, on Aug. 5 and Aug. 6. His tour will begin with four performances at Goodnights in Raleigh, N.C., on June 24 and June 25. His expedition will come to a conclusion with four performances at Levity Live in Oxnard, Calif., on Dec.16 and Dec.17. He is a stand-up comedian, actor, director, producer, writer and philanthropist.
Schneider was born and raised in San Francisco. During his teenage years, he performed stand-up comedy at venues within the city’s limits. In the early stages of his comedy career, he was an opener for Jay Leno and Jerry Seinfeld.
In 1987, Schneider made his major network television debut on “The David Letterman Show”. Three years later, he appeared on the HBO program known as “13th Annual Young Comedians Special”. After Lorne Michaels, creator and producer of “Saturday Night Live”, watched his performance—Schneider was hired to be a regular cast member on the show. He would be part of the troupe for four seasons, nominated for three Emmy Awards and one Peabody Award.
Other television programs Schneider was involved in were CBS’ “Rob” and Netflix’s “Real Rob”. He wrote, produced and starred in “Rob”. During the eight episode run, it garnered 13.5 million viewers and averaged above 11 million. For “Real Rob”—Schneider wrote, produced, starred, directed and financed the show. The four feats were the first of any actor. Patricia Azarcoya (wife and Mexican television producer) and Jamie Lissow (comedian) co-wrote the series.
Film credits for Schneider include: “50 First Dates”, “American Virgin”, “Bedtime Stories”, “Big Daddy”, “Eight Crazy Nights”, “Grown Ups”, “Little Nicky”, “Mr. Deeds”, “Shark Bait”, “The Benchwarmers”, “The Longest Yard”, “The Waterboy”, “You Don’t Mess With The Zohan” and “You May Not Kiss the Bride”.
As a writer, Schneider co-wrote and was the principal photographer of “The Chosen One”. He co-wrote and starred in the films: “Deuce Bigalow: European Gigolo”, “Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo”, “The Animal” and “The Hot Chick”.
Currently, Schneider resides in Los Angeles and supports numerous charities. He is the founder of The Rob Schneider Music Foundation. They assist with music programs for students in both middle school and high school levels.
