ORLANDO, Fla. – Russell Peters will be performing stand-up comedy at the Orlando Improv, from June 2 through June 4. There will be a total of five performances. He is an actor, author, producer and stand-up comedian.
In 1989, Peters performed stand-up comedy for the first time and hosted Canada Day Comedy Festival in 2006. He was the writer and executive producer of the following television comedy specials: “Almost Famous”, “Notorious”, “A Russell Peters Christmas Special”, “The Green Card Tour – Live From the O2 Arena”, “Red, White and Brown”, “Outsourced” and “Two Concerts, One Ticket”. “Notorious” was the first Netflix original stand-up comedy special and it first aired on Oct. 14, 2013. A four-part behind the scenes documentary, “Russell Peters Vs The World, accompanied it. His book, “Call Me Russell”, was a national bestseller and it was released on Nov. 15, 2010.
As an actor, Peters film acting credits included: “Boozecan”, “Tiger Claws III”, “My Baby’s Daddy”, “Quarter Life Crisis”, “The Take”, “Senior Skip Day”, “The Con Artist”, “Source Code”, “The Legend of Awesomest Maximus”, “Breakaway”, “Le Noël de Walter et Tandoori”, “New Year’s Eve”, “Bobby Khan’s Ticket to Hollywood”, “Girl In Progress”, “The Robot Giant”, “Chef”, “Fifty Shades of Black” and “The Clapper”.
Television works Peters was acted in consisted of: “The Big Stage”, “Are We There Yet?”, “Mr. D”, “Off Season: Lex Morrison Story”, “Tom Green: Live”, “Grumpy Cat’s Worst Christmas Ever”, “Spun Out”, “Codename: The Dragon”, “Royal Canadian Air Farce”, “Life in Pieces” and “The Indian Detective”. For in “The Indian Detective”—he portrayed a police officer, Doug D’Mello. CTV, Big Light Productions and Blue Ice Pictures were the producing partners. There were four parts and each episode were one hour long.
Voiceover work for Peters were: Deepak in “Ribbit”, Tran in “Bob’s Burgers”, Jumbo/Boss Man in “Wings: Sky Force Heroes”, Rocky the Rhino in “The Jungle Book”, “Family Guy” and driver in “BoJack Horseman”.
Serving as an executive producer, Peters produced: “Hip-Hop Evolution”, “Russell Peters Presents”, “Angelo Tsarouchas: Bigger Is Better” and “Comics Without Borders”. He also co-produced “Codename: The Dragon”. He wrote for one episode of “Def Comedy Jam” and “Comedy Now!”.
In regards to the future works of Peters, he is rumored and announced to portray Michael in “TCB Baby”. He is in the process of filming “Ripped”. “Public Schooled” and “Supercon” are in post-production.
Tickets to Peters’ set are $35 each and exclude fees.
