ORLANDO, Fla. - Saliva are set to take the stage at Venue 578, on Jan. 16. Their tour begins on Jan. 13 at Lava Cantina in Baton Rouge, La. and will conclude on Feb. 20 at Vape The Sun at Rawhide Western Town and Event Center in Chandler, Ariz. The concert dates will follow a handful of solo acoustic dates by vocalist, Bobby Amaru. They will be promoting their album, “Rise Up”.
Bobby Amaru is the vocalist, Wayne Swinny is the lead guitarist, Jonathan Montoya is the rhythm guitarist, Brad Stewart is the bassist and Paul Crosby is the drummer and percussionist of Saliva. Swinny also assists with backup vocals. They are a southern rock, metal and rock band hailing from Memphis, Tenn. They are known for their hits including: “Click Click Boom”, “Ladies and Gentlemen” and “Always”.
Throughout Saliva’s music career—they have earned gold and platinum statuses with the records, “Back Into Your System” and “Every Six Seconds”. They received an American Music Awards nomination for “Your Disease”.
On April 29, 2014—“Rise Up” was the eighth and final record to be released through Rum Bum Records. It was mixed by Ted Jensen (Eagles, Green Day, Norah Jones) at Sterling Sound in N.Y. and produced by Bobby Huff. Tracks on “Rise Up” include: “Rise Up”, “She Can Sure Hide Crazy”, “No One But Me”, “Lost”, “1000 Eyes”, “Redneck Freakshow”, “Choke”, “Army”, “Closer”, “In It To Win It”, “The Enemy” and “I Don’t Want It”.
“We made a great record,” Amaru spoke of “Rise Up”. “It’s like groundhog day, kind of for us with it. Déjà vu. But the writing process I think went back to where the band felt they were at one time. Everyone really had input. It wasn’t like, ‘Oh, we should do this because of that.’ I think everybody really got to throw their heart and passion into it.”
Swinny added, “It was just one of the most enjoyable experiences that I ever had in the music businesses.” “And a lot of credit goes to producer Bobby Huff, for creating an environment that was very creatively open and everybody was invited to write…”
