PUEBLO, Colo.—“Sareth-Fest” took over three different venues, from Oct. 24 through Oct. 26. It honored concert journalist, Sareth Ney. Musicians and comedians from Colo., N.M. and Mo. partook in the event.
Day one of “Sareth-Fest” took place at Phil’s Radiator and it was a preview of what to expect, as the festival continued on. It was the night where musicians from disc jockeys to hip-hop artists and those of the rock genre from Colo. to N.M. performed. Mad Scientists from Denver hosted a live stream for their radio show, “Mile High Medicinal Independent Radio”, and interviewed musicians and patrons alike.
Other musicians and comedians from the first day of “Sareth-Fest” included: Beard, Broken Electronics, Brown Ale, DJ Mista B, Bullhead*ded, Cosmic Waste, FreeForm, Render Them Useless, Patrick “Bojon” Butkovich, Christopher Jordahl, Chris Rivera, Megan Jean Robinson, Paul Rosales and Garrett Waller.
Venue 1925 hosted day two of “Sareth-Fest”. Colorado Springs comedian, Evan Plys, took it upon himself to perform a comedy roast of Ney. During The Asbestos Tampons performance, a spectator stripped to his underwear and helped start a mosh pit.
Drummer of The Chelios Condition, Keith Grenville Eddy, III. stated he had never participated in anything as exciting as “Sareth-Fest” in the five years he resided in Pueblo, Colo. Bridges guitarist, Matt Herrera, cited he had never seen a festival take over three venues. Day two did not end in a high note, as the local police officers brought an end to the festivities.
Additional musicians and comedians from day two included: Despicable Dialects featuring Brown Ale, Goatsilk, Commerce Of Cadavers, Myth of Creation, Sonic Vomit, Wickid Menaces, Into Awakening, Con & Boogs, Final Drive, John Brown, John Bueno, Patrick “Bojon” Butkovich, Matthew Chapman, Dan Raney, Wade Ridley, Pamla May Sterner, Ben Verbeck and Garrett Waller.
Keith Avery’s The Downtown Bar hosted the final day of “Sareth-Fest”. During the transition between comedy and music, Ney provided a speech and dedicated the festival to his late maternal grandparents. He remembered how they were known for their parties in the Takeo province of Cambodia and how they were awarded for it.
In Much Of Madness, Nate Baptist, The Ragetones, Scott Limardo, The Widowhood Effect, Shanon Sinclair, Stem Beach Soul Revival, Patrick “Bojon” Butkovich, Casey Dean Frase, Rob Lee, Charley McMullen, Paul Rosales and Douglas Sterner were also the musicians and comedians who were part of day three of “Sareth-Fest”.
