Sareth-Fest Music and Comedy Festival takes place at Smitty's Green Light Tavern, Rainbow Bar and The Hanging Tree Café

PUEBLO, Colo. – Sareth-Fest Music and Comedy Festival returned for the fourth year. The venues involved were Greg Smith’s Smitty’s Green Light Tavern, Justin Taibi’s Rainbow Bar and Charles Sole’s The Hanging Tree Café.
On Aug. 10, Smitty’s Green Light Tavern hosted the comedy portion. The first half took place during halftime of the Denver Broncos and Chicago Bears’ preseason game. Smith persuaded the viewers to attend, by offering free shots.
Sareth Ney introduced the first comedian, Patrick Buktovich. Michael Sword made his comedy debut. Colorado Springs, Colo. comedians, Nyland Vigil and Tyler James, performed. Vigil was scheduled to perform and James had a surprise guest set. Phoenix’s Hannah Heard had an unscheduled stand-up comedy set. She was followed by another comedian from Phoenix, Edward “EJ Nonstop” Hickson. Hickson returned for the second year in a row.
John Bueno returned for the fourth year. A guest spot by Ariz. comedian, Naeem Elliott, was next. Fla.’s Mike Pantzer graced the stage. Two more unexpected performances were by Pueblo’s, Dan Gist and Zander Alexander. Ney and Wu-Ma Chu had stage time. John Brown traveled from Aurora, Colo. and Charley McMullen visited from Memphis, Tenn. took part. McMullen was roasted by Brown and Colorado Springs, Colo. comedian, Ben Verbeck

Smitty’s Green Light Tavern and Rainbow Bar alternated musical acts on Aug. 11. Death By Cemetery began the music portion at Smitty’s Green Light Tavern, on Aug. 11. At Your Worst was first, at Rainbow Bar. Beneath The Floor Boards’ transition was easy because three of the members were part of Death By Cemetery. Swamp Gas Ministry, Calling The Fall, Scepter, Scrotus, Piojos, Might of Henry and Ashes of the Ancient also played.
Sins of Man and Sonic Vomit were the first two bands to play at Smitty’s Green Light Tavern, on Aug. 12. Severed Reputation started at Rainbow Bar. The lineup continued with: Foggiest Notion, Cosmic Waste, Myth of Creation, Bridges, Commerce of Cadavers, Creep Status, Thoz 1 Guyz, Stolen Format and Despicable Dialects. Musical acts traded off throughout the night at both venues.
At The Hanging Tree Café—The Ragetones kicked off the music indoors, on Aug. 13. It’s A Trade Thing began the festivities outdoors. Jesse McCoy, Last Reel Hero, In Much of Madness, I Die Knowing and The Dead End interchanged. Retention, Into Awakening, Privus Lex, Burns Like Hell and Scott Limardo closed out Sareth-Fest Music and Festival at Rainbow Bar.
