Stand-up comedy was next with Frase, Chu, Christie Buchele, John Brown and Rick Bryan. Frase and Bryan ended the first night providing commentary for Phở-Ney Film Firestorm. The two roasted Ney’s short film, “The Not-So Exciting Conclusion To… The Narcoleptics”.
It’s A Trade Thing, Scott Limardo and Beneath The Floor Boards performed on the second date of Sareth-Fest. Before Beneath The Floor Boards performance—Sareth Ney, the festival director, requested everyone in attendance to have a moment of silence for Randy Sanchez. Sanchez was a huge part of the Pueblo music scene and passed away, earlier in the year.
Diego Rodriguez, vocalist of Beneath The Floor Boards, mentioned how hot the temperature was and he took off his shirt. He continued to state he had hoped the weather was cooler. After their set came to a close, lightning and a heavy downpour happened. The rest of the bands scheduled to perform were moved to the third date.
DJ Roy Rumble started the third day and he programmed the words “Sareth-Fest” as a sound bite into his set. MRock was up next. Hell’s Circus, Velociriffer and The Dead End superseded. Progressive house and house DJs, Russ Hayes and Aquariuz, predated. The night ended with three sets of thrash metal with Calling The Fall, Voltaic and Retention. Rob Deadraiser assisted with guest vocals, for Retention’s last song.
Closing out the festival were stand-up comedians from each U.S. mainland time zone. Charley McMullen (Las Vegas, Pacific) hosted High and Dry Comedy Show. Comedians had to make up a five minute set with two random topics. Ney (Daytona Beach, Fla., Eastern), Tracy Kellett (Colorado Springs, Colo., Mountain) and Brian Sullivan (Colorado Springs, Colo., Mountain), Lindsay Glazer (Las Vegas, Pacific) and Mo Vida (Denver, Mountain) also participated. McMullen, Ney, Kellett, Sullivan, Glazer, Vida and Mo Alexander (Memphis, Tenn., Central) closed out Sareth-Fest.
