SANFORD, Fla. – Shriekfest The Annual Bi-Coastal Indie Horror/Sci-Fi Film Festival Competition returned to the Wayne Densch Performing Arts Center, on Nov. 3. Viewings started at 2 p.m. and concluded at 10 p.m.
There were four short programs. Each were one hour and 35 minutes long. Motion pictures consisted of: “Jane Love”, “Caronte”, “Snaggletooth”, “The Moor”, “There’s One Inside the House”, “Amy’s in the Freezer”, “Strange Clowns”, “Static Kinship”, “Chainsaw Charlie”, “Safe”, “The Candlelight Witch”, “Avulsion”, “From Life”, “Conductor”, “One Dark Night”, “Something in the Darkness”, “A Doll Distorted”, “Endless Cycle”, “Alfred J Hemlock”, “Nadine”, “Let’s Be Friends”, “It’s Tight But It Hardly Chokes”, “Trespass”, “Valcorian”, “Clickbait”, “The Hobbyist”, “Magic H8 Ball”, “Cat Box”, “element”, “Sockmonster”, “Jackal”, “Post Mortem Mary”, “Latched”, “The Visitor”, and “Cabin Killer”.
Before each block started, winning commercials for Shriekfest The Annual Bi-Coastal Indie Horror/Sci-Fi Film Festival Competition were screened. One filmmaker was in attendance for the event and he was Barry J. Neely. Neely’s short film, “Element”, was in the final block of films shown.
Awards were designed by Daniella Batsheva, sculpted by Chris Lynch, molded and hand painted by Shane Izykowski. They were presented in Los Angeles and winners were: Carroll Brown’s “The Spectral Bride” (Commercial), Aleksey Smirnov’s “U.S. Butcher” (Music Video), Kenny J. Wright’s “Magic” (Short Screenplay), Michael Rich’s “Cabin Killer” (Super Short Film), Tim Earnheart’s “Safe” (SciFi Short Film), Justin Harding and Rob Brunner’s “Latched” (Horror Short Film), Carroll Brown’s “A Quiet War” (SciFi Featured Screenplay), Rona Mark’s “Pervert”(Thriller Feature Screenplay), Daniel Shea’s “No Child Left Behind” (Horror Feature Screenplay), Dylan K. Narang’s “Sound Wave” (SciFi Feature Film), Rob Grant’s “Alive” (Thriller Feature Film), Brian and Laurence Avenet-Bradley’s “Echoes of Fear” (Supernatural Horror Film) and Andy Palmer’s “Camp Cold Brook” (Horror Feature Film).

Sareth Ney is the journalist for A Quarter and Dream Pictures. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mass Communications from Colorado State University-Pueblo. He is a former apprentice to master of horror, Clive Barker. He is a Wu-Tang Clan inspired superhero, Wu-Man Chu.
