ST. Augustine, Fla. – Stereo-Type blared through the speakers at Planet! Sarbez!, on March 11. They were the direct support. Alter and Lines In The Sky were the opening acts. Less Than A Sea was the headliner.
Vincent Victor Oath is the guitarist and lead vocalist, Nate Gould is the bassist and backup vocalist, Keagan Miller is the pianist and Brian Topps is the drummer of Stereo-Type.
After the sound was checked, Miller removed his glasses and Oath applied his sunglasses over his eyes. Stereo-Type began their performance with “It’s My Life”. As Oath performed, his sunglasses flew off his face and to the side of the stage. It caught Miller’s attention briefly and he continued to play. It bounced off the couch and landed on the ground.
Oath asked the crowd whether they were obnoxious or whether the sound was, before the start of “You Know Who You Are”. They responded with cheers and what Stereo-Type was projecting was fine. He went onto say Miller was the newest member of the band and how it was his first time performing an entire set with them live.
When Oath introduced “Opinions”, he stated the song was about not worrying about what others think of someone else. After the song came to an end, they continued with “Look”. Rhythmic clapping was heard near the back of the venue and Topps heard it. He went onto strike his drum sticks together along, during the song.
Prior to the start of “Insomniac”, Oath requested for water before he could continue on with the recital. Trevor John, vocalist and guitarist of Less Than A Sea, grabbed a bottle of water from the staff. Meanwhile, a spectator filled up a Styrofoam cup with water and placed it next to his pedal board. After quenching his thirst, he proceeded to sing. Gould assisted him with backup vocals, throughout the song.
Topps asked his bandmates if there were a pair of earplugs available, after “Insomniac” came to an end. However, he could not find any and Stereo-Type immediately went into “Stolen T-Shirt”. After the song came to a conclusion, an onlooker offered him a pair of ear plugs and he declined. He stated he would be okay because they only had one more song to perform. “I’m A Weirdo” closed out Stereo-Type’s show. When the song ended, Oath thanked the spectators.
“Universe” was also part of Stereo-Type’s set.
