JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Steve-O will take the stage of Comedy Zone – Jacksonville, from Aug. 11 through Aug. 13. His tour begins at Funny Bone in Virginia Beach, Va., from July 21 through July 24. It will conclude at Improv Rivercenter in San Antonio, from Dec. 8 through Dec. 11.
Born in London, England—Steve-O resided in five countries and spoke three languages, before the age of 12. By age 15, he took his father’s camcorder and produced skateboarding videos featuring stunts and comedy.
After graduating from high school, Steve-O attended one year of college at University of Miami. Then, he took classes at Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Clown College. He was determined to be a professional stuntman.
When Steve-O graduated from Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Clown College, he moved out to Hollywood, Calif. and brought his videos to producers. They found their way to Jeff Tremaine (creator, director and producer of “Jackass”). At the time, Tremaine was working with Johnny Knoxville to create a reality show featuring stunts. In 2000, Music Television (MTV) aired the first season of “Jackass”. One year later, Steve-O went on tour and called it “Steve-O Don’t Try This At Home Tour”. His trek took him to venues around the U.S. and to 12 countries around the world.
“Jackass: The Movie” was released in Oct. of 2002 and it was distributed by Paramount. Then, Steve-O and Chris Pontius received a spin-off show called “Wildboyz”. For four seasons, the show aired on MTV and MTV2. In 2006, “Jackass: Number 2” was shown on the big screen.
Three years later, Steve-O made his way onto network television. He competed on the television show, “Dancing With The Stars”, on American Broadcasting Company (ABC). He lasted six weeks on the dancing competition, powered through an injury and had no dancing background previously.
In 2010, “Jackass: 3D” premiered on the silver screen. He became a New York Times Bestselling Author with his biography, “Professional Idiot”. He embarked in the world of stand-up comedy. As a performing artist, he has performed in almost 40 countries. Showtime premiered his one hour long comedy show called “Guilty As Charged”. The special made it to the top one percent of all Showtime comedy specials aired on the cable network.
Since March of 2008, Steve-O continues to be clean and sober. He carries on with a healthy and vegan lifestyle, in Los Angeles.
