Stone Sour will be continuing on their European and North American tour, from Nov. of 2017 to June of 2018. The current European trek for the “Hydrograd World Tour” continues with a sold out performance on Nov. 15 at The Grey Hall in Copenhagen, Denmark. It concludes with a three night stand from June 14 through June 17 at Nova Rock in Nickelsdorf, Austria. Tickets for the North American leg of the tour will go on sale, on Nov. 17.
Corey Taylor is the vocalist, Josh Rand is the guitarist, Roy Mayorga is the drummer, Johny Chow is the bassist and Christian Martucci is the guitarist of Stone Sour.
In 2002, Stone Sour made their debut with their self-titled album. It earned a gold certification via the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). Two singles, “Get Inside” and “Inhale”, received GRAMMY® Award nominations for “Best Metal Performance”.
Four years later, “Come What(ever) May” was released. In the first week of sales, it was in the top five on the Soundscan/Billboard 200 and topped the Billboard’s “Rock Albums” chart. The single, “30/30-150” was nominated for a GRAMMY® Award and received a RIAA gold certification. “Sillyworld”, “Made of Scars” and “Through Glass” were provided to rock radio stations. “Through Glass” spent seven weeks on the top of Billboard’s “Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks”, peaked at number two on the “Alternative Songs” and “Top 40” charts. It was on the overall “Hot 100” charts too and currently has over 49 million views on YouTube.
“House of Gold & Bones - Part 1” and House of Gold & Bones - Part 2” followed. They both reached the top 10 on the “SoundScan/Billboard 200” chart and was released within six months of each other. Top five singles included: “Absolute Zero”, “Do Me A Favor” and “Tired”.
In 2015—Stone Sour covered one song each for “Straight Outta Burbank” by Bad Brains, The Rolling Stones, Mötley Crüe and Slayer.
“Hydrograd” is Stone Sour’s latest offering and debuted at number one on three charts: “Top Current Albums”, “Top Rock Albums” and “Top Hard Rock Albums”. First week sales propelled it to number eight on the “Billboard 200” and became their fifth consecutive Top 10, as a new entrant. As a new entry, it was number five in the United Kingdom (top unveiling), number two in Australia (highest introduction) and Top Five in three countries (Germany, Japan and Switzerland).
