JACKSONVILLE, Fla.—Suicidal Tendencies was the headlining act on the ReverbNation Stage powered by Hundred Handred at Monster Energy’s Welcome To Rockville, on April 25. Red Sun Rising, Sons Of Texas, Fozzy and Exodus were the opening acts and Testament was the direct support. The festival took place at Metropolitan Park and Everbank Field.
Michael Muir is the lead vocalist, Dean Pleasants is the lead guitarist, Eric Moore is the drummer, Nico Santora is the rhythm guitarist and Michael Morgan is the bassist of Suicidal Tendencies.
Chants of “S.T.” echoed throughout the general admission, prior to Suicidal Tendencies taking the stage. After Moore struck his drums, he noticed the energy from the fans and encouraged the crowd to keep the chants going by speaking into his microphone. He chanted “S.T.” with them and mentioned they were from Venice Beach, Calif. After Muir appeared on stage, they began their performance with “You Can’t Bring Me Down”.
Prior to “Possessed To Skate”, Muir greeted those in attendance. He spoke of the first time he had visited Fla. with his brother. He mentioned his brother was part of the skateboarding group, Dogtown, and was recently inducted into the skateboard hall of fame. He spoke of the inspiration behind the song and said it does not matter how many times one falls down. What matter is how they pick themselves up over again and how fast they do it.
Chants of “S.T.” continued to ring through Suicidal Tendencies’ showcase. Some made the letters with their hands, as they followed suit with the band. They ended their performance with “How Will I Laugh Tomorrow”.
“Freedumb”, “War Inside My Head”, “I Saw Your Mommy” and “Cyco Vision” were also a part of Suicidal Tendencies’ set.
Other notable performances occurred on April 24, at Jacksonville Landing. The lineup was for the official pre-party for Monster Energy’s Welcome To Rockville and featured: Hollywood Undead, Avatar, 36 Crazyfists, World Gone and Scare Don’t Fear.
Other notable performances occurred on April 26, at Monster Energy’s Welcome To Rockville included: ’68, Young Guns, Motionless In White, Breaking Benjamin, Slash featuring Myles Kennedy and The Conspirators, Godsmack, From Ashes To New, Islander, VAMPS, Tremonti, In Flames, We Are Harlot, In This Moment, The Pretty Reckless, Papa Roach, Slipknot, Shattered Sun, ReverbNation winner, Starset, Butcher Babies, Hatebreed, All That Remains and three performances by Metalachi. The surprise guest was revealed as Nothing More.
